They might have new manager bounce in the next one.
-
If he'd played any games this season before we sold him he'd be getting played sooner. It's not exactly UEFA Pro License science to think that he needs a few weeks to integrate and get match fit.
-
What's the preference? Hibs, St Mirren or Thistle in the semi?
-
Osong's a youngster who has only had a handful of first team appearances in the lower leagues. I'd have been more surprised if he had a seamless transition into the first team. He may or may not be any good, but I'd imagine it will be easier to judge later in the season. (Can you spend 8 years coming through the ranks at a team like Nottingham Forest while being shite?) Good to see we are writing players off after a handful of minutes though. It's a fine Motherwell tradition.

Was always going to be a tough cup tie, but despite the fact we should have killed it off by half time, it was - like any victory in a cup tie - a great win.
-
We're just a one-nil-away-from-home-in-the-Premier-Sports-Cup kinda team. Take your pick...
-
Should be 3 up by now.

A high press is exactly what you want when you play this style, though. Opens up space in behind - as long as your passing is sharp. The difficult teams are ones that play the "low block" - which seems to be the fancy technical term for parking the bus.

One thing is certain. With Beaton in charge there will be some baffling decisions made for both teams.
-
Just is a big loss, but at least we still have Fadinger and Watt in there. Said is improving too, In previous seasons when Miller and Slattery were out we had nothing left in our midfield.

This is why it's a good thing fans don't actually manage professional footballers.

I don't dislike the man either, but for most of his time in charge, the football was brutal to watch. As you might have guessed from some of my posts, I also got fed up with his "have to earn the right to play football" spiel as an excuse for hoofball. I said at the time that good teams play their game from the kickoff, and JBA has proved that already this season. No doubt, as the years pass, he will get better and better, but I imagine if you go back to some of the match threads from those seasons, there will more complaints than praise

Lennon Miller state of play as Scotland ace awaits debut Udinese boss Kosta Runjaic has promised Scotland starlet Lennon Miller he will soon be in his plans once he gets up to speed. The former Motherwell midfielder has yet to kick a ball for his new club following his £6 million move to Serie A in the summer. The only football he's played this season has been for Scotland as a last-minute sub in the 2-0 World Cup win in Hungary against Belarus. Miller, 19, hasn't played a domestic game since May, but Runjaic has revealed he will soon introduce Miller into his line-up He explained: "We certainly don't need to teach Lennon Miller how to play football. He knows how to play all right. "But he needs to go through this integration period, given that he hasn't played much in the last month. "He's very diligent and is making excellent progress. "I'm very happy he's here."

I'd take a win in either game at this point, but would much prefer it in the cup tie.
-
I hope Killie lose every game they play on that pitch.
-
I wonder how many years it will be before Robbo's St Mirren team will have "earned the right to play football".
-
The good news is that it's only about 3 weeks until the international break. The bad news is, etc...
-
I think that nature of the injury and timeframe for return is very much confidential information, but as you say, it could be equally likely we don't want to let opponents know who is available any given week.
-
Not sure what the current situation is, but for a while the English clubs were ignoring the rules in place because the TV money they received for the live games far outweighed the small fines they had to pay for the breach.
-
The early start in the League Cup certainly doesn't help as it interrupts the coaches' ability to put together a progressive training plan. I have heard various managers say that nowadays, their team doesn't get fully match fit until 2 or 3 months into the season.
-
No wonder there were problems.
-
I don't think the government puts out the cones.
-
Maybe waiting for the next home match to pay tribute?
-
He has previous for that. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but it felt like every week we lost (or didn't win) he told the press he had a recent meeting with the refs who told him the exact opposite decision would be made on a call that went against us.

Every away team that is required to play on that embarrassment-to-Scottish-football of a pitch should be awarded 2 penalties per match as compensation.
