  1. If we do lose Robinson, I'd rather see him taking the NI job than ending up at a rival club - but it would be a loss for the new season I wasn't a fan of his early style, but was a fan of his approach to training and fitness and have enjoyed watching his recent teams. The benchmark for any gaffer is that they leave a club in a better state than when they joined it and he has certainly done that.
  2. Of course - assuming the club make a profit from this. I'd rather see all £22 go directly to the club than a crowd full of Love Island cut outs, but that's just me (a miserable old git). But if it generates extra income and adds to the matchday experience, more power to it.
  3. We'd be paying some of his wages and, if we improve his game, generating a bigger fee for him when Rangers sell him. Both of which give Rangers a financial bonus.
  4. I doubt Murphy will be an option - he has a year left on his contract and Rangers need someone to either buy him or absorb a large chunk of his wages. Hastie, I'm guessing, will be out on tour again next season. (Taking Murphy on loan for a year wouldn't be developing him for Rangers, though, as he'd be out of contract at the end of it).
  5. I have a feeling that all the hilarious cut-outs will be a lot less amusing than the people who submit them think they are.
  6. While that's true, developing a player for a rival in your league is a little counterproductive. I'm sure nobody was too worried that we developed Ruddy for Everton, but developing a player for teams we're competing against is not something I'm a fan of.
  7. It will end up being Derry, Shamrock Rovers or Bala Town.
  8. The Malpas Method? I would be fine if we promote from within, but I'd also like us to cast the net a little wider. No need to restrict our options and it never hurts to test the market.
  9. Fair enough. I am, at best, on the fence as I never saw enough of him last season to be able to judge. If there are youngsters ready for the step up I would definitely prefer they get that chance.
  10. I always thought Polworth was the replacement for Turnbull - before it all went pear shaped. I can see the logic behind O'Hara for Campbell, although Campbell would be a big loss.
  11. Must have rejected that 3 year deal Barry Fry claimed we'd offered. It's almost like he made up that story.
  12. I think for a few posters on here that should definitely be a requirement.
  13. The away version isn't too shabby either.
  14. Not many had heard of Robinson before he joined us.
  15. In one of his interviews he also said he thought it was probably a bit too soon for him. Of course, that it is the correct thing to say when you're dealing with speculation, so I took that with the necessary grain of salt.
  16. If they had added an iceberg it would make perfect sense.
  17. I'd be surprised if Robinson wanted the NI job at this stage. But then again, I thought there was zero chance Hearts would poach Neilson from United.

Don't feel bad it took you this long to realise how much sense I make.

You must know different players and agents.

I know. That's why I said earlier in this very thread that spouting off in the media made him sound, to quote my exact words, petty and unprofessional. Glad you agree with me.

I said it earlier, but I suspect he was on the wrong end of some bad advice from his agent who no doubt told him to play hard ball and he'd get more money. And it didn't work.
  22. It's difficult to tell for sure, of course, but I always felt that Robinson loves the day to day interactions of club management and isn't ready to give that up yet for international duties. It will probably be in his future, though. I still think Baraclough will be the next NI manager. He has an impressive track record with their U21s.
  23. Exactly. If every club changed their badge based on current industry we'd all just have call centres as a logo.
  24. Only watching extra time, but Bowman the standout so far in the play-off.

Going public is petty and unprofessional. These days, the first thing an prospective employer does is google a candidate. If they find you bad mouthing even an ex-employer on Twitter there's a good chance your CV is getting filed in the bin. What happened here is no different to the other thousands of contract negotiations that happen every day. Many of them break down for many reasons and both parties just move on. The guy is lucky he's working in an industry that is back up and running. Lots of people who had been contributing to his wages are out of work and looking at long term unemployment; especially other self-employed contractors not covered by the furlough payments. I don't know if it was him or his agent that thought going public was a good idea, but given the current environment it was pretty tone deaf.
