  1. I know it's a bit easier from 3000 miles away, but I don't even bother with the media at times like this. The days when they reported news rather than looked for clicks has long gone.
  2. He might bring back Danzaki from Western United. (Of course, he might also know how to get the best from him).
  3. There might be a few more interesting candidates in the hat purely because we are not in the standard managerless position of anchored to the bottom and 15 points from safety.
  4. We had a club captain convicted of knocking a man unconcscious. A week of SK sniping will pass even quicker.
  5. It will all be digital fish and chip wrapping by the end of the month. Need to stop wasting time on PR and focus on getting a new gaffer in place. Media chat won't be putting off any candidates and if anybody cares about what is written in The Sun or The Rancid there's no hope for them anyway.
  6. I thought Naismith was pretty terrible, and only got away with it thanks to Shankland hitting a hot streak.
  7. There are better ways to change things at fan owned clubs than moaning on the internet.
  8. Our form has been inconsistent this season, but so has the form of our immediate competitors. That's why it's such a tight league. I've seen plenty of relegation-form Motherwell teams and this doesn't look like any of them (yet). There's certainly good arguments to made about changes being required - whether that includes tactics, playing personnel or manager. I don't think that argument needs to involve relegation struggles because we lost 2 league games in a row. If we'd done an Aberdeen and Lost 8, Drawn 2 of our last 10, then relegation would be 100% in the mix.
  9. I can't remember the media correctly predicting our new manager since around the Tommy McLean appointment.
  10. Maybe our fans need to grow a thicker skin and not feel hurt or alienated?
  11. As I said, I appreciate the league is tight. However, our form has been win a few, lose a few, and I don't expect that to change much over the coming weeks. Our last 4 league games have been W D L L. Nothing to write home about, but not panic stations either. Even our normally horrendous December results gave a L W W D L D return, and that included two Old Firm matches. So I am nowhere near worried about relegation at this stage
  12. Aye, I wouldn't any of them for free, never mind wasting money buying out a contract.
  13. Of course McCall had a lot more credit in the bank, so much easier to leave on good terms. It's also quite funny that some posters (not you, btw) are happy to hurl dog's abuse at someone and then moan about lack of respect or dignity when they leave.
  14. I know the league is pretty tight, but we're still more involved in a fight to stay in the top 6 than a fight to stay out of the bottom 2.
  15. Where do you see "disturbing" or "disgusting" mentioned on the official site's statement? The Sun, on the other hand, has a long track record of dishing out disturbing and disgusting personal abuse for profit. See "anything they wrote about Hillsborough" and take it from there.
  16. In the modern game the press will likely have received the details in a release from SK's agent, so unlikely we could hide it. Plus you know SK will be giving hour long lectures on it any time he is asked what time it is. I don't doubt there is some truth to it. I also don't doubt there is some truth to the fact he was running out of ideas. So by going this route SK is doing a bit of "personal brand" protection, to use horrible marketing speak, and the club avoids accusations of hysterical "hiding the truth behind SK's departure!!!” headlines.
  17. One thing SK twigged shortly after he was installed was exactly what van Veen needed to be productive. If he didn't do anything else, getting a record breaking season from him (and a sweet transfer fee) was a decent return. Theo Bair was an added bonus. Pity he couldn't figure out our defence with the same results.
  18. I like what John McGlynn and Rhys MacCabe have been doing. And Ian Murray had a good spell at Raith. I'd be surprised, however, to see any of them installed. It's strange for us to be shedding a manager while in a decent spot in the league, so not sure if we'll be looking for a "consolidation safe pair of hands" or "expansive footballing man promoting the youngsters".
  19. I doubt Casey got close enough to his man for a proper bust up.
  20. Doesn't say it wasn't aimed at his family too. Family members can have "personal abuse" aimed at them too. (I have no idea if that's true, btw).
  21. Long term, I'd like to bring in someone to play a bit more football. Short term, I'd be delighted if we can bring in someone capable of organising the defence.
  22. Our official site reports the same. "Stuart approached Chief Executive Brian Caldwell on Monday morning to explain why he wished to resign. Stuart explained that some of the personal abuse was now affecting his family, to the point where they didn’t wish to attend games."
  23. in 2025, there's more to abuse than the moaners in the East Stand. Most abuse comes via social media these days, and can be pretty nasty stuff when the anonymous punters hide behind their phones and keyboards.
  24. He's contracted until 2027, so if we want long balls and no Plan B I imagine we'll need to look elsewhere.
