  1. I'd say that was Ojamma playing beside Higdon and McFadden in the slot.
  2. 100% this. We've never had a striker (or supporting midfield) that can play 1 up front.
  3. If we're going to play Frear, Ariybi, McCormack etc. the first thing we need at the back is to find players who can make simple pass to them instead of hoofing it over their heads. McHugh is probably better than Hartley and Aldred in that regard (although it's not a high bar).
  4. I've yet to be convinced he'll even return. (I hope he does, obviously, but everything about it feels like a playing career ending situation).
  5. Classic Main miss before the classic Motherwell lapse in defence.
  6. He's done more than the new guy. And, if you believe Cadden (and why not) Frear has been working on other tricks the past few months.
  7. Still scrappy, but came back into the second part of the half. Still looking rusty. Need to shake that off the second half. Established that, so far, Ariyibi unable to take a corner from either side.
  8. Pretty much what I expected after a long break. Imagine it will take us the first half to get up to speed.
  9. I recommend keeping the red wine out of your eye. Helps prevent the tears.
  10. Rosco being fit already is good news. The original chat was he might not be available until early Feb.
  11. Good stuff. Like 'Flow, I always remember how quiet we were at the end of 90 minutes. Never been more emotionally drained at a football match in my life. And then when Kirky scored so early on in extra time we knew it was going to be a nerve shredder to hang on. I'm exhausted again just watching it.
  12. Right now the MFC TV site is saying "Live video for users outside of the UK/Ireland, live commentary for all users." for the Ross County game, so we might be in luck after all.
  13. I'm old. I forgot that people these days need to have every piece of humourous understatement or irony punctuated with smileys.

Cheers everyone - (I suspect UBH would have minor issues with the original Adidas one too, right enough!)

Is the Adidas one any good? I thought about investing in one of those at the time, but in the end didn't want to risk it.
  16. When I saw in this year's accounts that we still trade under The Motherwell Football and Athletic Club Limited, that made me happy. Seeing the "portholes" and the Athletic Club logo when you approached Fir Park was all part of the experience.
  17. It feels like McCormack has been around for years (I suppose he has), but he's only 32 and, if he stays fit, should still have plenty to offer. Davie Cooper was 33 when he signed for us and he just about managed to put in a performance or two. I'm more interested to see if the new signings change the way we play or if they will be forced into the current system.
  18. I think we need to shift some out before we can bring any more in. Still 2 weeks to go, though.
  19. It's easy to forget (especially at my age) there is a generation of 'Well fans who are too young to remember our Cup win, or just weren't born. While I'm not generally a fan of 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th etc. anniversary DVDs I'm looking forward to seeing this film. It seems to be a bit different from the standard fare.
  20. After 45 minutes of us struggling to get up to speed after the winter break, we pull away in the 2nd half for a 3 - 1 victory.
  21. Cash comes into every job decision, otherwise he'd have worked for us for free.
  22. That he'd prefer more money working at his favourite club with a chance of working his way up to a senior coach's job? (Also, lots of coaches prefer working with younger kids. Same way as some teachers prefer working in primary schools and some prefer teaching at Uni).
  23. Given that Project Brave required us to have 17 thousand coaches or something, we're probably covered until we find the right people. Seriously, though, I think we are a pretty good gig for anyone interested in youth development, so expect some quality candidates to apply.
