  1. Assuming that was the 2nd time around. McClair himself said that was a disaster and he was absolutely useless.
  2. The biggest difference for me is McClair only had a couple of seasons with us, whereas McAllister was more of a Motherwell "product". When you saw either of them play, however, there was no doubting they were destined for greater things. (McClair single-handedly beating the OF in a week is still one of my highlghts of following this team). There was a great article on McClair in The Scotsman a few weeks ago (even underboyleheating might approve of the gambling site he endorses - 50 % of proifts go back to supporters). He has turned into a bit of a hipster, though.
  3. That's just to camouflage the players when the fans start throwing flares at them.
  4. Boyd did win a few league titles and 72 caps. I doubt there are many ex 'Well players that matched that many international appearances. (He even played in World Cup Finals and Euro Finals - remember those?). But I agree it's a drop off from the Lambert, McLair, McAllister level of success.
  5. Not sure it was a real game. More of a closed door, bounce training session.
  6. He certainly should have been able to perform at a higher level than League Two in England or Scotland.
  7. Same for me. On the flip side, I always felt McFadden should have had a similar career to McAllister.
  8. I hope he enjoyed the money he made at Ibrox because he killed his career progression.
  9. Morton game is closed door.
  10. Another day, another Facebook egg story.
  11. Robinson said at the start of pre-season the players on international duty would be put on a different training schedule. So I doubt recent speculation has played a part.
  12. But he's a midfielder, not a central defender.
  13. With Donnelly and McGuire for cover, I'm not sure we need another central defender. Plus Dunne's preference (and arguably better) positon is central defender, so he could slot in there and Taylor-Sinclair on the left.
  14. If people don't like the sponsor then don't buy the shirt. If enough people don't like it the club will get the message. Personally, I have no issues with online casinos (assuming they are legit) but understand why some people find it less than ideal. Plenty of other nice gear in the shop that is sponsor free and still helps support the club. And in my case is more age appropriate!
  15. I'm guessing the new players we brought in plus the new contract for McGuire were to make sure we're covered if someone like Kipré moves on. I doubt we'd be bringing Aldred back for the reasons mentioned above.
  16. If Cedirc ever means to intentionally hurt someone, they'd know all about it.
  17. Once he's savvy enough to not get elbowed in the face by Kris Boyd, his work here is done. Wax on. Wax off.
  18. There is also the clear out down south at the end of the window when clubs have to trim their squads. That's often when loan deals etc. are arranged.
  19. Pre Our pre-season window runs from 9 June – 1 September. The English decided to start earlier (so they could close it earlier), so they are 17 May – 9 August. So plenty of time to lose players yet...
  20. There's no need for any change kits when we play Hearts as we don't clash. We've played them loads of times when neither team changed.
  21. Not yet, but Robinson mentioned he was still looking for a winger and a striker.
  22. Won't be buying either - but I'm a grumpy old man who hasn't bought a 'Well top since 1991.
  23. Robinson said we lacked depth last season. While some of the new faces will no doubt be contenders for first team spots, there's no point in shipping out too many players or we'll end up in the same boat.
  24. I'm no expert, but I suspect if there weren't more popular rugby league teams that use the diamond template, Airdrie might not find it as easy to get one their shirt these days.
