  1. I imagine there will a twitter commentary too.
  2. Again, though, I suspect Robinson knows this. He has experience of both leagues and, as he mentioned in his interview, sees unfulfilled potential in Dunne he hopes to encourage. In general, we can't afford players from exactly our level our above, so most of our signings are going to be lower league guys we hope to develop. At the very least, maybe let's just give him a chance to show what he can do before moaning. Although I do realise there are a lot of posters who prefer the latter.
  3. More weight than the thoughts of our manager who had him as a player at Oldham?
  4. TBF, it's the journos that ALWAYS ask that OF question to every English player we sign. I have some sympathy with the interview process too - here ye go, son. We just signed you now go and speak to the press on camera. The gaffer's interview that was just posted gives more insight into why we signed him and what his hopes are for him. Maybe even more insight than the Blackpool fans. Seems like we are looking for a right-sided defender now and waiting to see how the trialists perform in the next couple of games.
  5. Odds on at least 2 papers reporting a "Dunne Deal"?
  6. I think you're right about 2/3 signings. The good news is the transfer window doesn't close for almost 9 weeks. The bad news is by the time the transfer window closes in almost 9 weeks it could be 4/5 signings we need. Although I'm sure we have targets to replace our most likely leavers.
  7. Summer fitba' though, eh? Isn't that what I keep hearing people want?
  8. I thought that too, but looking at his stats, that doesn't seem to be the case. According to Wikipedia, he has scored a grand total of 18 league goals since 2011; twelve of which came in his stint at St Jonstone from 2014 - 2016. If that makes him worth half a million, Moult's last two season's tally must put him past the 1 million value.
  9. The key factor in the striker equation is will Moult stay. If he does, then we need to make sure we have options that play well with his style. If not, then we need to be thinking partnerships when we bring in fresh blood.
  10. The Scotsman reckons St Johnstone are looking to re-sign him.
  11. The warm up areas will be to prevent things like the Celtic fracas, and to keep players of our snooker table of a pitch as much as possible. In general, however, the board seems to have learned from its mistakes and is aiming for a breakeven budget, so not too concerned at this stage.
  12. Maybe some of the youngsters. Plus Hennighan, obviously.
  13. Or maybe - just maybe - professional scouts and coaches whose livelihood depends on these things know more about identifying players they can develop than the punters who can't see passed their own biases.
  14. It's always amusing that the same people who complain that we never get big fees for players are the same ones who post how poor our players are. "Heneghan is shite, and won't ever improove!" "What do you mean we flogged him for 50k? We were robbed!"
  15. As our GM pointed out, Cadden is under contract until 2019, so we certainly have no need to sell him on the cheap.
  16. If you are looking to sign a goal scorer, it's a pretty good starting point. That's why we will get more money for Moult than we will for Blyth.
  17. 2014/15 was his best international season during the same 4 year period. Zero goals in 2 games 2013/14 5 goals in 6 in 2014/15 3 goals in 11 games in 2015/16 3 goals in 8 games in 2016/17 Not too shabby. But still not sure we could afford to make him a top earner for a couple of years and hope he scores more than another 4 domestic and 6 international goals. Of course, he'll sign for Hearts now and hit 20.
  18. His recent club stats are far from impressive. Five goals in his last 3 seasons, 16 goals in his last 4 seasons if you want to be more generous. Not sure we have the room in our budget to pay him top dollar and hope he hits some form.
  19. TBH I'm not sure what to make of Jules. We threw a him into a terrible team with a makeshift defence. Quickly killed his confidence. Not the best way to judge someone. Other guys like Hall and Hennigan have had big Mick beside them to talk them through a game. Certainly didn't cover himself him glory, but not a lot of our first team regulars managed that either.

Harsh, but fair. I was thinking 218, but I see where you are coming from.
  22. Based on an entire decade (at least) of "Hibsing it" I'm not convinced their fans are used to winning.
  23. Is that true, or did you get an email from him offering to split the $17,000,000 commission?
