  1. No vote from me, but glad to hear McManus stepped up when required. Can be frustrating at times, but no doubt he is quality when he applies himself for the 90 minutes.
  2. 3 points against the worst team in the league. Delighted we won, but need to make sure we keep the momentum going over the next few games.
  3. Sounds like we got the wee break we needed with United hitting the bar at 1 - 0.
  4. Government cutbacks. Same reason as BBC 3 went 100% interwebs today and they are losing huge amounts of live coverage of other major sporting events.
  5. It's called "getting a thread back on topic". We used to do it all the time in the old days. I can feel a surprise win in the air for us tonight based on nothing more than the surprise weather here today.
  6. It's not steel we need. It's some creativity.
  7. Same problem with McManus - he seems to switch off for 2 or 3 minutes most games and we end up conceding.
  8. The "fitness" question wasn't the stupid one I was talking about, it was the kind journos love to ask in the "manufacturing a quote" category. It's just a version of the "Have you stopped beating your wife?" question.
  9. I know they like to rotate media duites, but I'd like to see McManus at the press conference every week. His time at Celtic obviously prepared him for the stupid questions and the journos trying to stir things up by manufacturing a quote. He keeps them all in line and always an entertaining listen.
  10. Back in the days when we just needed to mention a name and Aberdeen were all over them.
  11. Aye, it would bring a whole new level of "ex player coming back to haunt us" BS to this site.
  12. To be fair, when the whole of Scottish football (and arguably the entire professional game) is going in the wrong direction, it's difficult to know how any club could swim against that particular tide.
  13. As for "not caring what the fans think" - I should hope not. The last thing any club needs is a gaffer that makes changes based on the chat coming from the stands.
  14. If I make it over, I'm not locking up the stadium before I leave.
  15. Ainsworth's goal was a thing of beauty. It was great to score a 3rd, but to score a 3rd of that quality was just rubbing it in.
  16. There's the problem in a nutshell. In the grand scheme of things, it costs peanuts to own a club like ours. If you're an EPL club, the fees you receive for 2 live games are more than it cost Les to buy our club. But the people who would buy it don't have that kind of money and the people who have that kind of money would never buy our club.
  17. In a thread about putting things in perspective, getting relegated is not a 'disaster'. The war in Syria is a disaster. Getting relegated is a financial downturn we'd need to address.
  18. Took us 3 seasons the first relegation I had the pleasure of watching. Despite the struggles on the field, it was one of my favourite times watching the 'Well, standing on the terraces with my mates at a lot of away grounds that don't exist any more. Midweek trips to the likes Shawfield, Kilbowie, Boghead and Firs Park were the order of the day.
  19. That was covered by the larger umbrella of police activity.
  20. How many relegations have you seen? I've been through 2 real relegations and a few more saves from league reconstruction (plus the Falkirk stadium debacle). Every season that starts I believe not being relegated as successful. Despite all that, I still have hope before each game that we can pick up points.
  21. Without reading the rest of your post, I'm going to guess it doesn't pan out well for you. Am I close?
  22. Been saying this all season. Considering the experience we have through the spine of the team, I'd expect the last 2 or 3 minutes to be time wasting at the corner flags of the opposition.
  23. He's 23. And strikers typically hit their around 28/29 (or in Higdon's case with us 29/30) so he's about 5 years from peak performance. Arsene Wenger reckons any player who changes leagues takes a minimum of 6 months to adjust, so I still have confidence we will see more from Moult over the next 12 months. Regardless, he blew your notion of none of our strikers scoring 5 goals this season out the water pretty quickly.
