  1. By the time that happens, they will have created the technology to broadcast in 3D directly into my brain.
  2. It sounds like we already have our targets lined up - I doubt we'll be picking up anyone released today (unless it was previously arranged).
  3. Interestingly (to me, at least) I didn't receive that email. EDIT: Turned up in my inbox now.
  4. None of Ripley, Fletcher, Moult, Kennedy or Taylor's names were mentioned in any rumours. It's how we roll. Be surprised if that changes for any further signings today.
  5. Like the 'guaranteed to score' McFadden in Perth last season and 'guaranteed to score' Higginbotham on Saturday. Of course, when eventually an ex-player does score against us it's because it 'always happens'.
  6. How does it work with Bosman pre-contracts and the League of Ireland? Their season finishes in October - does that mean he could join us a free agent then? Or would he have to wait until January?
  7. Depends who buys him presumably. Celtic are in the frame and I'd think they'd be keen on putting him in the first team given his SPFL experience. If he goes south (which is still possible), who knows what kind of deal they'll require.
  8. It's a tricky one. The problem if we play any 2 of Johnson, Aisnworth & Thomas is that inevitably leaves the 2 central midfielders to to all the heavy lifting. If they are up against a 3-5-1 (which is often the case, especially at home), that is a lot of ground to cover. On the other hand, if we sacrifice a winger for a more defensive midfielder we are losing a large part of our attacking advantage.
  9. On a different note, seems like Ryan Christie is likely on his way out of ICT. That will be a big loss to them.
  10. Of course, if we are looking to sign free agents, then the window deadline is irrelevant. Also, Baraclough said in the summer they already had ideas for who the might target in January, so there will still be work to be done regardless of who comes in this month.
  11. The paint on the steps must be metallic and causing some sort of electromagnetic interference.

Couldn't agree more. Looking forward to see what new signings we wrap up before the window closes and then how the team develops over the season.

Maybe, but overall, would you rather have Accies squad or ours? As nice as it would be to have the best SPFL player in every position, its unrealistic at best.
  14. As far as the maths goes, if 2000 adult members pay 10 quid a month for 3 years, then thar generates 720k (plus any interest if that is permitted). So adding that to the initial amount raised would appear to push over the 1 million required to pay back the loan. As others have said, you can stop at any time and still keep your membership. I think the underlying idea came from Hearts scheme where you can continue to pay and increase the sum available to the club for future interest free loans. It's not a bad model if you can afford it.

Aye, let's swap Accies last 5 seasons for ours. We'll finish above them this season I'd wager. Looking forward to steeboy's payout on his "None of our strikers will score 5 goals" bet too.
  16. Looking at the line on the grass and the wonders of youtube pause, it looked to me that Moult was in line when the ball was played. I can see why the flag was raised though as it was very tight.
  17. It's not just his interest free loan. Les has brought a business acumen and professionalism that we had let slip in recent years. Not that I blame the previous board - it's easy to fall into fan mode when you are running a club you support. Now Paypal is finally on offer, I was happy to sign up for my monthly. A good first step to addressing the issues the long distance and overseas members face. Hopefully broadcasting, or at least recording, society meetings will be next.
  18. If people are repeating the same mince, I'll happily call them out on it. They can certainly hope to be entertained, and I think it's fair to say in the past 4 or 5 years, entertainment has been on show more often than not. I'm pretty sure, however, the current squad isn't playing badly just to annoy you. Maybe they aren't quite good enough to do that yet. We could well end up exactly there at the end of the season. I'm interested to see how we progress in that direction. I'm not expecting miracles before the end of August, though, because football doesn't work like that.
  19. Do you remember why we played Rangers? It was because we were 2nd bottom of the league. You don't change a team that bad that quickly. If we do turn it around, it's going to take months not weeks.
  20. Formation is somewhat irrelevant as long as you have numbers in the box when you attack and numbers back behind the ball when you defend. I'm not sure what you want to do about the cracks though. This is the squad we are playing with this season and a win's a win. The cracks in the team that got us to 2nd under McCall were huge, but manageable when big Higgy and Sutton were banging in the goals. Going to take a while to fix things.
  21. Just be aware they sell your bandwidth to other people that they can then use for attacking websites, running spambots etc.
  22. Skippy removed from penalty duties, then.
  23. Oh, and better Les than that dodgy South American consortium.
  24. I wouldn't believe any stories, quotes or information that comes from that particular rag. The man himself has spoken mamy times to fans (and MFC TV) where it's more difficult to twist words, misquote or take things out of context.
  25. Transfer strategy has been our big weakness in recent years. If we want to be self financing signing guys like Fletcher, Moult, Kennedy, Marv and Laing is the way forward. Only takes one of them to get sold for a million and it has paid dividends.
