  1. Sad, but true. If you told me Rangers were going to pick 11 'Well fans from the stand to play against us, I still reckon we'd find a way to lose against this mob I'm waiting in hope for the day I'm proved wrong, but our record against Rangers is dire and I never expect anything more than a 2 or 3 goal defeat.
  2. It's always tight at the end of the season - which is, of course, why threads like this are premature. I'd still rather be where we are than where Dundee Utd. or St. Johnstone are. Far too soon to be thinking about second, but also too soon to panic as St. Johnstone and Dundee Utd. will be dropping points too.
  3. To be honest, even though I don't agree with that point, I have no problem with managers talking up our game. Hype did wonders for the EPL to extent many people actually believe it's The Best League in the World (copyright Sky 2012).
  4. I actually agree somewhat with Kenny Shiels on this (and no, I'm not high). I read him in The Herald yesterday saying that he felt we needed an independent body to assess these things in regard to what was best for football overall in this country. His point was that what was of benefit to the chairman of Kilmarnock was not necessarily beneficial to the Scottish game and each team is likely just going to vote to meet their own needs.
  5. I think that's a fair point. For those of us lucky enough to have been at Hampden when we won the Cup, the chance of a CL game in our lifetime is possibly a more attractive option. If you haven't seen us win a Cup, then I can see how that would be a better option.
  6. I didn't say they couldn't have a crack, I'm saying that 90% of them aren't going to win. If all that matters is winning, then they should pack up and go home.
  7. So 90% of the teams in the world should just give up playing the game then?
  8. I agree with that, but it would be nice to play in the CL once in my lifetime. Then we can focus on cups again
  9. I'm sure we'll reflect on that just before our Champions' League campaign kicks off.

    Vs Hearts

Apples and organges (neither of which Adele has seen for quite some time, I'm guessing).
  11. In no particular order (and limiting it to players I have seen play) Keith McCrae Joe Wark Peter Marinello Vic Davidson Bobby Graham Willie Pettigrew Gary McAllister Brian McLair Tommy Coyne Tom Boyd Ross McCormack Brian McLaughlin Tom Forstyh Gregor Stevens Paul Lambert Brian Martin Mitchell Van der Gaag Ally Maxwell Davie Cooper Bobby Watson But ask me in an hour and I'd probably have half a dozen changes
  12. The MFC Marketing Machine rolls on
  13. Agree with all the responses on here. It's sad when you lose a parent, but it's something we all deal with sooner or later. Give the lad the time off he needs, but not an event that should disrupt an SPL fixture.
  14. I'm still not sure what 'going for 2nd' means. It was obviously a special case post-split last year where McCall believed that keeping players fresh for the cup final was more important. This season he is sending out teams to win as many points as possible each week. Keep doing that and the league position will take care of itself.
  15. Every time we play them they try and stop us playing by brute force.
  16. Dundee Utd's style (i.e. bruisers that like to lump balls and players) matches up well against Rangers. They are always going to be more successful against that mob.
  17. Soccerbase has him on 11 for last season.
  18. If you contact them directly they will give you the details, but I believe you have about 9 months to pay the full amount.
  19. I joined up last week. Hopefully many others are like me and get their fingers out nearer the deadline. Just a born procrastinator.
  20. Not really. He was basically sent off. If a player is sent off and subsequently suspended he isn't being punished twice. Hope he fights it though.
  21. Closest I have over here are John Spencer (Portland) and Ally Maxwell (Phoenix), but those towns are are about as far away from me as Motherwell! In fact, we only have one famous sportsman from my wee town and that is Dan Orlovsky (QB for the Tampa Bay Bucs)
  22. Cruyff was at Barcelona by that stage. However, the Ajax team was full of Dutch internationals, a number of whom played in the 1978 World Cup final (including their captain Ruud Krol).
  23. Not that I'm saying Higgy should be playing centre half, but defenders get away with much more fouling than strikers. There are things that go on in the box at a corner that would be instant free kicks if they happened in the middle of the park.
