  1. Just saying OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO again and again doesn't make it scary.
  2. Atdhe.net has this posted: http://atdhe.net/31586/watch-celtic-vs-motherwell and a few more are listed here.
  3. I think we would have ended up bottom 6 this season with Brown, so finishing there with a new boss wouldn't rank as a disaster to me. Brown was a good 6 month appointment last season to bring a bit of stability, but should have been nowhere near the job this season.
  4. I think someone posted he had turned his ankle in training.
  5. So you don't think it's "potentially disastrous" now?
  6. At least your country is listed. 'United States' isn't even an option. I haven't worked out yet if it's due to good taste or racism
  7. According to the architects, reconstruction of Deepdale cost 26 million. Even half of that would likely be out of the question for us.
  8. Substitute Sunderland/Coventry for Bradford and you have Butcher's CV. He wasn't exactly setting the heather on fire with his managerial talent before he joined us.
  9. Spot on. I understand that you don't get the same feel for a game on the pitch as you do on the sideline, but guys like Craigan should be able to help re-organize the team on the fly and, at the very least, get the playesr motivated and in about the opposition.
  10. Well here is one contradiction. The official club statement read "Over the past couple of months it has become abundantly clear that the manager was not fully committed to the club and, despite our best efforts, he repeatedly refused to sign a contract." Brown wouldn't sign a contract either, but the board didn't see that as an issue.
  11. My argument still stands. Saying we punch above our weight is an insult to the team's ability as it's implying their skill level isn't sufficient to justify their league position.
  12. He still had more of a budget to spend when he was boss than he would see a second time around -both for wages on guys like Cooper, Russell etc. and on transfers. The reason he left, as I recall, was at least partially due to board not wishing to finance his plans to enhance the squad. Not a great indicator of someone who wants to work with no funds. I agree though - he won't be back.
  13. It doesn't annoy me, it's just factually incorrect. I doubt anyone could even explain what constitutes our 'weight', what constitutes our 'punches' and quantify the quality of those punches in such a way that makes us somehow lucky in beating what, by definition, must be consistently superior opponents. It just sounds like a label tossed around by some incompetent, OF loving tabloid journo.
  14. Tommy had a lot more money to spend back then than he'd be given this time around.
  15. Not saying that post is wrong because I know nothing about Penney, but I remember the Oldham fans telling us about how Porter was a crock with bad knees who wouldn't do much for us.
  16. You mean like McGhee (or even Brown) had from his time down south? I don't remember him bringing in the quality of player (using all his contacts) that Gannon introduced. It was widely reported that when JG interviewed for the Hibs job that he had a list of 30 or so targets for every single position on the field. Not 2 or 3. Targets he had watched develop since they were playing in the the youth leagues, and targets with whom he had developed a good footballing relationship. More importantly, when he said he was going to acquire a striker or a keeper or whatever within the next few days, that is exactly what he did. I'm still waiting (along with Aberdeen fans) to see McGhee's big powerful centre half he has been promising.
  17. The only desperation I can see is from the posters on here. A few Twitter 'exclusives' from the Daily (Yesterday's news the day after tomorrow) Express is hardly worthy of anything but healthy skepticism. I haven't seen any fact based stories of people being offered the job only to knock it back. All I have read is unsourced stories of people of have decided they are no longer interested. I'd rather we took a few more days to decide than rush into a Malpas situation.
  18. The reason they get away with it is simple. There are more of them than us and it is easier to control the actions of a few than the actions of a few hundred (or thousand). With a few hundred, it's a matter of containment.
  19. Well, we don't know if it is true,so I wouldn't be too worried yet. I wouldn't be surprised if some applicants decided to withdraw after an interview - that's pretty normal. However, it's not the same as being offered the job and turning it down. Time will tell, I suppose, but there's no use in worrying about Daily Express Tweets.
  20. If he does end up the new boss, it's another good job by the board keeping a name under wraps for so long.
  21. You can't punch above your weight for 18 months in football. It's 11 vs 11 every week, and over the course of a season the better teams finish higher up. So if we are top 6 it's because the players are sufficiently talented to merit being in the top 6. Not because we keep beating teams that are better than us.
  22. Pretty sparse looking crowd there.
  23. The one thing we know from previous appointments is that the press really has no clue who the manager will be. They churn out theories, but have been way off the mark many times. The Board does a great job in keeping things under wraps.
