  1. Excellent. Who said Tam was a talentless hack? (Stuart Cosgrove, not me, btw)
  2. Exactly. If he had just come out and said something along the lines of how Motherwell had rekindled his appetite for the game, how grateful he was for that, and an opportunity has come up that he never envisioned that he'd like to take a shot at before he retires etc. he would have been golden. A number of fans, including myself, aren't too disappointed to see him go. Just annoyed at the way he dealt with it. A bit like the difference between the Faddy and Pearo exits.
  3. Did the original Hammerfist account get shut down, or did the wee boy just get tired of trolling?
  4. I liked Magilton as a player, but he was pretty average manager in his stint at Portman Road. Of course, h'e could have been suffering from 'first job after retiring as a player' syndrome.
  5. But you just know we will lose. And not just that - play them off the park, and still lose. And then Broon will tell the press what a good effort we put in.
  6. They are in love with the long-ball game.
  7. If I had just been accused of illegal tapping I don't think I'd be open to doing the accuser any favours.

    Club Statement

Nicely worded statement from the club. Let the hunt begin.
  9. The only thing that disappointed me about Brown was that he came back for the new season. I never saw him as anything more than a short term solution and was surprised we didn't bring in a new face over the summer. Hopefully we can bring in someone for the next 3 or 4 years to add a bit of long term planning to the mix. Onwards and upwards.
  10. Didn't he say in his Beeb interview he "indicated" he was staying. I thought that was a strange choice of words at the time.
  11. Butcher was the right man at the right time. That time has passed.
  12. +1. I think he'd be a perfect fit for our team.
  13. They could have let Leeann know what was going on. From today's ET:
  14. By all accounts McGhee didn't.
  15. Exactly. To be honest, I was happy to see him stabilize things out last season, but I was expecting a new manager to be brought in for this campaign and, while he still doing a solid job, CB is not a long term solution. I'm sure we could find a younger (sorry Craig) boss for the longer haul if Broon decides to head north.
  16. I think the problem was that he did fulfill his potential.
  17. True, but the odds are based on the betting volume too. So the more people that have a flutter based on the stories on the Aberdeen forum, or on Pie and Bovril, the shorter the odds become.
  18. You'd have to think if Stark wants it he will get it. Exactly. If we have a vacancy, you can guarantee there will be plenty of applications received. There are always more managers than jobs at the top level.
  19. Well he did say Motherwell would be his last job, but to be honest if he goes, he goes. He did what needed to be done at Fir Park i.e. brought some stability, and if he feels the need to step aside then so be it. I think he would be an idiot to take on Aberdeen at this stage in his career, but on the other hand, it's not going to affect his future prospects
  20. Good critique of Mr. Kearney and his Dallas outbursts here.
  21. The wildlife and pensioners will be happier though.
  22. That might have been part of the problem. Most good managers want to bring in their own assistant, not get lumbered with whoever happens to be at the club.
  23. Encouraging your local club to use it is different from turfing (no pun intended) out your regular customers out with zero notice.
