  1. Never been a huge fan of Rangers and their statements, but hard to argue with this one:
  2. It did get paid, though. Just took longer than usual because it was the first year MLS teams were in the scheme and their federation were trying to claim they were Tier 4 for the purposes of compensation pay outs. So it had to go through all the UEFA and FIFA bureaucracy until it was settled. In the end, when Cadden signed for Hibs, the fee had to be paid before he got his clearance. 'Flow talked about this on a couple of occasions including confirming that it was paid. Also, anybody who gives a footballer any credit for the brains to come up with a scheme like that hasn't met many footballers.
  3. Looking through my old Society emails, I did receive one from Craig Hughes back in 2015 about the monthly subs. I think, however, that was aimed at international members as it also talked about making it easier for us to donate with the new Paypal option.
  4. Of course, now Dundee are saying if it's cancelled it would just be rescheduled before the split.
  5. Looking forward to that one being played at Airdire behind closed doors.
  6. I thought that too, but the last vote showed the members were very much of the the opposite view indicating they would be willing to give up an overall majority; and by quite some margin.

That was the main reason I didn't think SK should be punted during our bad spell. The players obviously wanted to play for him and each other. That is always the best chance you have of turning things around. When a manager loses the dressing room, or when players start infighting, then it's pretty much over.
  8. Gent is under contract at Blackburn until June 2025.
  9. If Dundee do lose both their games, then Hibs only need a point in this one, so that might affect their tactics. Much simpler from our perspective - just win it. 4 - 2 to us, and just hope Aberdeen don't Hibs it.
  10. I'd say our obvious weak spot is giving up soft goals. That, however, is not a tactical thing - it's an individual mistakes thing.
  11. Theo Bair in 2024: 9 goals in 12 league games. KVV in 2024: 0 goals in 8 league games. I said a few times I didn't want him back this year, and this is why. He obviously wasn't close to being fit and his head was definitely not in the right place. He might sort himself out again over the summer, but likely to revert back to his more typical 9 or 10 goals a season form. We did well to get the best from him when we did. Still a legend, though.
  12. In some circumstances there is a perfect way to win a game. Today was that day.
  13. You realise the "wee presser" comments were reported in every national newspaper and on the national radio programme too?
  14. Looks like Turnbull is lining up as a striker in a front two for Cardiff today.
  15. SK said a lot of that in his presser this week so not surprised he's repeating it now.
  16. Match abandoned at half time. Dundee claim "we did what we could". 3 points awarded to Rangers.
  17. We were hit by the earthquake today and zero games have been cancelled. Just sayin'
  18. I like that too, but of course the SPFL can dictate what happens if the Dundee game is off in much the same way they ignored Motherwell and Ranger's protests over the rescheduling of our game at Christmas.
  19. If that was possible I'd have thought many teams would have already agreed that in other games this season.
  20. If it's to be believed, the report I read said they would have to install VAR cameras at Airdrie if the game was moved there.
  21. And pretend we did everything we could so we don't get hit with a fine.
  22. That's true, but the first game we played up there was an absolute joke.
  23. I guessed that might be the case when I saw the forecast at the beginning of the week. I hope they do the decent thing and call it off on Friday rather than wait until people start travelling.
  24. Regarding the statements, or lack of. There are all sorts of legal, compliance and regulatory issues defining exactly what can and can't be said during these kinds of transactions - and they mostly boil down to not being able to say very much. That is true for dealings both sides of the pond. I don't see anything about the potential investor being American, only that they are a "US-based family" - and there's a quite a few us of us here that fit that bill and are not American (I'm not the investor, btw). Enjoyed the analysis of the "2017 Trump Tax Reforms' though. Thousands of pages of complex tax law distilled into "you can write off overseas losses". BTW, not saying I'm in favour of this - I voted against allowing overall control for any investor and I'll need to see some serious detail before I continue to contribute to the Society.
