80's favourites: Paul Friar Bernie Grant Tom Graham
-
Five league games, one Legaue Cup game.
-
I always want to avoid the Premiership champions away from home on day one. I'll take the Championship team every day of the week.
-
They've had to be quite active as they only had about 5 first team players left after contracts expired and loans ended. I'm quite happy to start off the new season against them. Home would have been better, but we have a good away record under SK.

Working in the EPL as an assistant manager with Sheffield Utd. Managed by Hibs reject Paul Heckingbottom.

Technically, He wasn't found "not guilty" of anything, as there was no criminal trial due to "insufficient evidence in law" As per wikipedia, however, Of course, he declared himself bankrupt and never paid a penny, but that judgement still stands. Being a professional footballer isn't a right, but he's certainly entitled to look for work in that field. Equally, individual clubs have the right to choose who they want to employ as long as they don't illegally discriminate.

We'll only discover he's a superstar when Ange brings him to Spurs on a free.
-
Maybe we should try signing this KVV bloke
-
It's been so long since we had a left back and a right back fully fit at the same time I can hardly remember what a proper back 4 looks like.
-
I didn't see anyone claim Fletcher is the answer to our forward line. Just that he might be a decent signing. Akinyeme, also mentioned, could be the answer - but I expect there will be better offers for him than we can afford.
-
He's certainly impressed in the Friday night games I've watched him in.
-
Would certainly be interesting to see if Akinyeme can repeat his goal scoring exploits in the top division.
-
Needs to lose the man bun. Our success rate with man-bunned strikers called Fletcher is not good.
-
The only things I'm interested in are when a player has definitely left the club and when a player has definitely signed for the club. And that has been pretty clear so far. Contract negotiations, offers, rumours, targets etc. are pretty much meaningless gossip until there is a signed contract to back them up.

Sad to hear. One of the few people heavily involved at all levels of the Scottish game who talked it up and put it in a positive light.

It's that time of year - more than 2 months to go before the window closes - when the posts start coming in about how weak our squad is. It peaks around the first or second game in the league cup group, when there's still 6 weeks before the window closes and teams are playing their fittest available 11 (five or six of which won't even be starters when the league campaign starts). The structure we have now with league cup groups, and league campaign, kicking off well before the window shuts means you would think fans would know by now that the squad the first week in July will be very different from squads the first week in September. Instead, you could cut and paste the same posts from 3 or 4 years ago into this thread. I hope they don't really get as stressed about it as their posts make them sound. Enjoy your summer, and your holidays, and then see where we stand squad-wise on the 2nd of September.

RB and LB assumes SK wants a back 4. If he plans to go with a back 3 then requirements change.
-
The main thing about Efford is he's a winger, not a striker. First and foremost we need a number 9. The more other players can chip in with goals, the better it is, but the line needs to be lead by a number 9. (Now just waiting for the false nine explainers chipping in).
-
It's difficult to predict who will do well in the striker position. Before he joined us KVV himself didn't exactly have the stats in England that would predict a 29 goal season.
-
I'm speculating, but maybe they thought that logo was more visible on telly, cameras etc. Looks like they will be the shirt sponsor for Dundee Utd too, so maybe they wanted a logo that worked on both jerseys. Whatever the reason, I like it better than Hibs bevvy.com effort with the QR code.

If we have a creative midfielder that can make a pass, I don't care if they sit down and light up in the middle of the centre circle when the times are tough. That's why you also sign midfielders with good engines that can tackle. You tend to get more tough times more often if you don't have at least one passer in the team.
-
I can even live with the sponsor on the front. My only niggle is I'm not a fan of having a sponsor below the hoop on the back. I don't mind across the shoulders. Also delighted we've avoided the "lets print some 1970's curtains into the fabric" trend.

After leaving County and dealing with his legal issues I don't think Paton had kicked a ball for at least 6 months before he joined us; never mind done any training. A better time to judge will be once he has a pre-season behind him.

A I said, underrated. He was the captain of the Man Utd Academy team and even played for the Man U reserves. You don't make it that far at Old Trafford if you don't have the basics. They're not exactly short of options. His play was old-school at times, but if you have the right balance in midfield that can be an asset.
