  1. Charles Dunne, Richard Tait and Curtis Main all leaving St Mirren. Even as we speak, Robinson will be on the MFC website working through the list of our released players to replace them.
  2. Very true. Despite the media hype, it's easy to forget they finished 3rd in the Championship that season 22 points off the top.
  3. Also not a fan of the keeper being the captain, but it's probably not worth it to take it away from Kelly now. Ideally, I prefer the captain to be a boss in midfield so they can easily bark at strikers and defenders, but defenders are a close second for me - Joe Wark being a classic example of that.
  4. I give a lot of credit to Baraclough for getting the tone exactly right in those games. Another huge factor was having guys like Pearson, McManus and McDonald in the team. Winning at Ibrox was quite normal to them and that mindset was something we'd been lacking in many previous visits.
  5. I appreciate Curtis Main has other attributes over and above goal scoring, but as a striker that is a pretty important stat. So it made me laugh this week reading about St. Mirren's "star striker" leaving the club and how Robinson brings out the best of him. At Motherwell, he scored 8 league goals across 2 seasons and at St Mirren he scored 9 league goals across 2 seasons. Looking at his stats, the most league goals he has ever scored for any club in a season is 8, and in 15 of his league seasons he has scored less than 4 goals. He'd probably have done a job playing along side KVV, but if you need goals he is not your man.
  6. 31st May - end of contract day, start of moving day. On the "out of contract" list, Goss and Casey would be my priority. Johnston too, of course, but he's likely gone.
  7. I wasn't convinced either, but then I noticed this on his wiki page 444 goals in 15 games is a pretty decent return

    Alexander.

McGhee certainly hid his massive ego less than most, but it made his press conferences pretty entertaining if you just assumed nothing he was saying was true.
  9. I was a bit concerned with that interview. Not because it sounded like he wasn't convinced Danzaki had proved himself, but more with his comment that "we don't play a number 10" I'm hoping he meant that we don't play a number 10 within the structure he had to implement when he took over rather than he wouldn't have played a number 10 even when Turnbull was on the books.
  10. Can't say that Harkes has ever looked much more than ordinary when I've seen him in the Premiership. He performed better in the Championship, but there are many that fall into that category,
  11. Thanks @David for doing the boring part of tallying up the votes. Some interesting stats across the season. If you look at total votes cast, KVV was first and Goss was a clear second. Goss actually picked up votes in more games across the season than Kev. Same for Spittal in fourth spot - he also picked up votes in more games than KVV. O'Donnell had the 6th highest total number of votes across the season. Butcher manages the 7th highest total which was pretty impressive for 14 appearances. Kelly had the highest individual total in anyone game - 42 in our early season win against St Mirren. The lowest number of votes to win it was Matt Penney, when he was MOTM against Rangers in December. There were only 7 votes cast he 4 were for him.
  12. He said it himself after the St. Johnstone game.
  13. I agree Max will be be away. I just hope he goes somewhere he'll get a game, because the odds of that when you move to a "bigger" team are pretty small. He's another one who'd benefit from a season of regular starts with us.
  14. If Wigan want to loan Jamie McGrath to a Premiership club I wouldn't say no.
  15. Exactly. Having no sell-on value due to age is a minus in the transfer fee column. The other thing, maybe ironically, is that some clubs might think he's peaked this season. It's rare an on-form striker has left us and repeated the same form. They struggle to score half their tally. I'd love to see 7 figures, but I'd guess it ends up as 'undisclosed' and a high 6 figures.
  16. I think he's crocked right now. While he might be lodging a request I'd imagine clubs will want to make sure he's fit.
  17. KVV's pen are, to be polite, erratic. A decent chance he'd have missed it. Like all good strikers he's missed his fair share of opportunities because he gets into the right positions more often than most. He'd be just as well worrying about the first half header he missed. His goal tally is impressive, but scoring in 11 consecutive is something even more impressive.
  18. KVV breaks record - check Win - check 50 points - check Positive goal difference - check Take your pick for one last time, I'll keep this poll open until Wednesday and then tally them up... EDIT: Poll fixed now, have at it
  19. Bevis is fine when he remembers to keep it simple.
  20. Just the start we needed to extinguish any last notion of hope Utd had.

    Alexander.

People only care about arrogance when you're losing. If SK had the same record as Hammell we'd be slating him for arrogance too. You need an ego the size of Lanarkshire to survive in the management game these days.
  22. I certainly hope Wee Al gets his chance, but many teams in the same position gut the core that got them there and spend their EPL money on a new squad.
  23. 9 years from non-league to EPL apparently. Pretty impressive.
