You have serious competition now Fozzie has joined us
-
Certainly has an impressive CV at youth and senior levels.
-
Aberdeen's surely, after 'Flow's first appointment gets the heave at the end of the season.
-
So, in summary, the guy has a 20 year career and played 644 games, but we shouldn't hire him as a qualified coach because of one fight on the pitch and one "incident" with Tommy Wright where we don't even know what happened. As for the third situation, you misread wikipedia. When his contract was not renewed, he said it was "morally shocking" that clubs like Ross County were not talking advantage of the furlough scheme. He wasn't released because he criticized the club. So no need to be outraged at that one. Look forward to the same posters being outraged next time we discuss Willie McVie, Stuart McLaren or Ally Mauchlen (to name a select few).

There are a few things we need to be focusing on to continue our efforts to secure a safe league position. Dundee Utd isn't one of them.
-
To be fair, I think every ex-player that can string a sentence together ends up as a pundit at some point.
-
There's not many teams in the league below us that are "playing well" County have been as mediocre with us. 2 wins out their last 5, both at home and against the teams in 11th and 12th spots. It's going to be another battle, but at least it will be a battle on grass. No reason to fear it though unless we plan on playing like Dundee Utd did in their defeat.
-
Of course. And it must be difficult to avoid the temptation when a club down south offers much higher wages than a Fir Park academy player. It's all about long term vs short term. A back of the fag packet statistic seems to be around 60 first team appearances for us before moving leads to better things. At least it did for players like McAllister and McFadden.

These complaints surface every time we lose a youngster. I'm sure of you know of a way to force them to sign the contracts we offer the club would be delighted to know about it. It wasn't that long ago people on here were saying we should follow the Dundee Utd model where they tied up their youngsters on lucrative long-term contracts in the hope one of them would generate a larger transfer fee. Didn't hear too much about it when they were struggling in the Championship and scrambling about trying to offload their millions in bank debt to private investors.

Bologna have had some success with Scottish players (Ferguson and Hickey), so while it would be a shame to lose him too soon it makes a change to see European teams look to Scotland for talent.
-
I know it's a different team at a different time, but Levein had a decent record at Tannadice. I'd much rather they go with someone like Jim Goodwin (who has done nothing since a decent run at Alloa) or Tommy Wright, who showed his prowess for a relegation scrap with Killie.
-
If Ross Stewart wants to reunite with Kettlewell, I'm OK with that.
-
We might not know (yet) if Championship is his level, but it's pretty obvious playing as a winger is not his position.
-
You can say it's just the pitch. The ball took a typical plastic bounce which meant Kelly dropped one he'd normally catch and then it got stuck in van Veen's feet when he'd likely been able to clear it on grass.
-
We'll definitely pose a bigger challenge to them than Dundee Utd. How bad were they? Another one we don't want to lose, but are certainly capable of winning.
-
-
If I had to choose a way to get a draw against Killie that would be near the top of the list.

I was just about to post that. I didn't think it was possible to make that pitch have a more uneven and unpredictable bounce, but I think today is the worst I've seen it. No doubt that suits the home team more, as they are used to it, but it's beyond brutal as far as any kind of passing, or football, is concerned. I'm sure Killie are quite happy to have it set up this way - and no coincidence they are mince away from home.

He's still an amateur compared to Henrik Ojamaa.

I meant after he had taken the job and dug the hole we're in. It's an old cliché, but the best managers surround themselves with people smarter than they are. If you're not astute enough to realise when a bit of help is required, then you are your own worst enemy. As I said in the other thread, the world's greatest players still need coaching and training every day, but for some reason most managers think never need guidance. No point worrying about it now though. I wonder if Hammell or Kerr would come back to work in the academy again or if that bridge has been burned.
-
I just like the fact that he has managerial experience he can look back on to compare and contrast with what he's facing now. It became more and more obvious in Hammell's later interviews that he had nowhere to go to find alternative approaches to try and dig us out the hole. It felt like his answer was to keep working on the same things, but a bit harder. It's a shame we didn't insist on someone a bit more experienced to assist him with the day-to-day as it might have been all we (and Hammell) needed to get us over the hump.
-
We can pick up decent compensation fees for players that move without every playing for us - the deals for guys like McKinstry and McAlear were beneficial and there is a chance we get even more income from add-ons if they move again. If we manage to keep them for a season or two then guys like Campbell and Turnbull add a level of quality we couldn't afford to buy.

There's a man that only shops from the the top peg at Slater's.

I think the problem is we do understand your jokes
