  1. Claret shorts didn't make an appearance in our kit until 1973, so probably shouldn't be the traditionalists' option. I don't mind them too much - it's amber ones I really dislike.
  2. Sales I presume. If you keep the same style every season you only need to buy one every 10 years.
  3. Anything that doesn't involve fluorescent colours is fine with me. We can go full hoop as we don't need to worry about UEFA competition regulations. My favourite look is the one from the 50s with white shorts, black socks, but claret is OK. http://historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Motherwell/images/motherwell_1951-1952.gif
  4. Always enjoyed late season Killie games since the days when Ally Mauchlen was the enemy.
  5. That plastic must cost a lot to maintain.
  6. Are you just pulling random predictions from your misery generator app now?
  7. 7 - 0, KVV getting all 7 to reach his 30 goal mark. (or 2 - 1).
  8. A player's only value is what someone will pay for them. The closer they get to their contract expiring the lower the value. Doesn't matter if it's KVV or Harry Kane.
  9. We did reject an offer for him and he hasn't.
  10. Getting cash for someone that had signed a pre-contract and was going to leave for free in a few months, and that player going on to score a total of 1 goal that season, sounds like good business to me. You sound bitter because your CEO application was rejected.
  11. His form will almost certainly drop next season, so probably good for both parties to cash in soon. I think Higdon is the only on-form striker to have a semi-decent strike rate (14) the season after he left us. The others like Sutton, Moult and Watt have all struggled for various reasons. (I'd be delighted if he stayed, of course, but his recent interviews sound like they are laying the groundwork for moving on).
  12. I guess that depends on Kettlewell wants his own team to set up rather than how to set up the team he inherited. The summer window will be interesting to watch.
  13. Now MJC has me agreeing with Robbos boy - the world is ending. The only minor niggle in the fixtures is Livi away on that aberration of a pitch, but I suppose we have to get either them or Killie away. The worst case scenario is that 6 points guarantees us safety, but much more likely 2 or 3 will be sufficient. I can only imagine the MJC meltdown if we were sitting in St Johnstone, Utd, County or Killie's current position. Kettlewell has it all under control. We're safe. Enjoy the run in and let's see if KVV can hit his 30.
  14. Kevin van Veen, doelpuntenmachine!!
  15. 3 at the back has worked so well for Kettlewell I'd be surprised to see him deviate from that.
  16. Underrated player with us for some reason, but one of McLean's signings that started the transition from parking the bus to winning the cup.
  17. I started working out the permutations, but gave up. Unless there is some massive swing in goal difference I think it boils down to 6 points guaranteeing safety. As the games unfold, that target will almost certainly drop.
  18. If you want to get any pleasure out of football, it's a good idea in general to avoid listening to what players have to say. There are a few exceptions, but mostly you'll end up disappointed. (The same, of course, is true for famous actors, musicians, players from other sports etc.) Sometimes you can't avoid it, but most of the time it's pretty easy. Back to the game, it looks like Celtic's point was a good result compared to Rangers. It's a rare and fine weekend when both sides of the OF are unhappy. Long may it continue.
  19. No wonder Slattery gets a hard time in here if people are confusing him with Spittal! The pass was excellent and the finish even better.
  20. Does that make me a racist? Fixed - ready for the Blaney votes to start flooding in.
  21. No pinko, liberal, commie, snowflake participation prizes in this house. More importantly, having a team vote has exactly the same effect as not voting for anyone when it comes to tallying the individual player votes at the end of the season.
  22. Pound Shop Skippy Sunday. Take your pick...
