  1. Search ongoing was the least thing I read. TBH, I was more concerned about filling the coaching staff vacancies first, so not too worried about a new CEO taking longer.
  2. It's not about limiting anything. It's about what the clubs can support. If you're averaging 1000 people at a game (like Gateshead) at £10 or £15 quid top price, then it's a bit of a stretch to pay all the squad a wage that will let them support a family. There are some exceptions of course for the teams that are trying to bankroll their way into the top flight.
  3. I see the non-league players are quoted as "Football is our livelihood and the sole mechanism for financially supporting our families." While I'm all for anyone getting a livable wage, the fact that players can support themselves and their families on a non-league salary shows how much some of these clubs are spending in an effort to make it into the senior divisions. Non-league wages used to be a nice wee supplement to your day job. I'm guessing more and more clubs are digging themselves into financial holes.
  4. I have no issue with McBurnie being Scottish. I do have issue with him being regarded an international class striker.
  5. Now Hibs have a slight sniff of third place there's a good chance they will Hibs it. It might not be in this game, but put a bit of pressure on them early on and we'll find out. Biggest factor will be how many players we injure during the international break. (Special mention to Lee Johnson who is the only manager I've heard be vocal about how terrible plastic pitches are and how they should be nowhere near the top division).
  6. Fair enough (although I'd hesitate to hand over money to a group that didn't run a spell checker on a document they paid to print). The initiative itself sounds like a plan to split the support and oppose the club (and the safety officer they hate) as a reaction to the "Heavy Hands" complaint, and that seems like a bad thing to me. I'm all for better atmosphere at games, but I don't think this is the way.
  7. The grocer's apostrophe must have pushed you over the edge.
  8. You weren't irked by "intiative" in the first line?
  9. I'm not convinced. I have lost count of the number of players I have seen collapse to the ground clutching their face when their opponent has caught them on the shoulder. The incident I saw at the weekend, the ref saw it was no foul and let the opponent take the ball away, but no action was taking against the faker.
  10. I'm not seeing anything from the teams below us right now that makes me think they'll be overhauling us. Livi and St MIrren are no great shakes either, and we have a chance to put some pressure on St Johnstone and keep them in the mix. As long as we don't pull our usual trick of injuring a few key players during international break it looks like we'll be enter this critical stage with our strongest squad of the season. The biggest thing for us will be the belief we've picked up over the past few games. We've picked up 10 points in our last 5 games. The three teams below us have picked up 7 points in total in their last 15 games combined, including just 1 win. 10 points from our remaining games shouldn't be too big of an ask.
  11. I'm certainly happier watching our top 2 and 3 league finishes, Euro games (however good and bad), cup runs and overall entertainment over the last 20 years than I would have been watching Accies. Bottom of the Championship and years on a plastic pitch? Just naw.
  12. I have never seen it happen in a men's game in England. It's rare they even pick up a booking despite feigning injury happening in almost every game I watch, including twice today.
  13. You're looking at the wrong VAR image. The one they used has just been released:
  14. That would be a good point if we'd never beaten the Old Firm.
  15. Record intact. Take your pick...
  16. I've checked my watch 5 times now. Must be nearly full time.
  17. To be fair, that's his main talent.
  18. That's one good way to avoid watching Ranger's first 2 goals.
  19. Not too shabby. Also famous for being the last time Billy Davis cracked a smile.
  20. Andrew Driver and later, I think, Islam Feruz when they thought he'd be the next big thing.
  21. That's the one that annoys me most too. A simple "born in the country or one parent born in the country" should be the limit.
  22. That's the one. Glad I'm not going completely senile. I still remember the move and the header from my vantage point in the terracing, but didn't remember if The Rile crossed it or scored it.
  23. I don't think Kettlewell is married to 3-5-2, but I suspect it will be his favoured formation for a few games while it's picking up points for us on the road to guaranteed safety. Efford, McKinstry, Danzaki etc. will be some of the "layers" he talks about adding.
  24. His hands must have been too cold from the Falkirk weather to feel the OF balls from the freezer.
