  1. I believe it was St John. I can recall being in the stand watching willie Hunter play
  2. Agree but it could be awkward if MFC want him to go to club A but he wants to go to club B. I wonder if there was anything in the contract he signed that makes it his decision who to go to or is it as you say, the clubs call on where they want him to go? Not really knowing, I’m guessing that maybe Turnbull gets to sign for the club of his choosing as long as they meet some minimum amount? Which may be less than 3M?
  3. And so joe from 30 years ago is so concerned that he suddenly turns up to offer advice and apparently knows that Turnbull wasn’t involved in the decision. WTF!! I’m assuming this is another piece of wonderful Scottish journalism pandering to the old firm??
  4. Not sure how many were expecting a bidding war. I was assuming it would be a club that offered MFC what they were prepared to accept and that Turnbull accepted the personal terms. We now know that we will accept 3M (or perhaps less depending on other terms) so its pretty much all down to Turnbull, assuming of course there is another club that will meet MFC requirements. As someone asked previously though, what happens if some club bids, say 1M and no sell on clause but a great personal offer to Turnbull?
  5. While this has been entertaining (well, since he knocked back celtic) I’m hoping it can get wrapped up soon one way or another.
  6. I guess that could be allowed in any thread !
  7. I think Johnstone started the rumor. FFS first McRae now Turnbull
  8. Perhaps a move to Sheffield, or another championship team, would be a good stepping stone in his career advancement ? Plus give MFC a chance at decent sell on fee percentage.
  9. Hopefully he can combine the best cash with the best career advancement for himself. Of course it would also be nifty if it was also the best financial deal for MFC as well.
  10. I think most people had some reservations about Hastie being the real deal whereas we have no doubts about Turnbull so maybe the right choice for Hastie. However, having said that I think with the right coaching and the right attitude he could do very very well. I hope he does but taking into account the decision he took he may have too many self doubts.
  11. Why not do it? Regardless of what club they go on loan to they are helping the loaner club. So we might as well get some advantage out of it rather than another Team.
  12. We can’t afford new strips now that Turnbull knocked back that magnificent offer
  13. We’ll get the money. just not sure from which team yet.
  14. Even if he didn’t want to go there it makes sense that him and his agent would at least want to see what was on offer rather than just knock it back blindly
  15. It’s pretty much out of his hands once he agrees a fee with any team but I think he is in a very good position now. We either get a decent fee or we get to keep him playing for us. He chose to go down the path of take the money while it’s there which aligns with the views of a fair few people. I was in the other camp of take the risk and hold out for a while, either for better offer or continue to play for us, get better and net us a better deal down the road. Of course that’s a much riskier path but one I would have opted for and one which would seem we are now on. So for me there is no blame attached to Burrows for anything he made the call and I can’t say it’s the wrong call, just a different one than I would have liked. I really hope he does not go to Celtic but I think that, hopefully, every single Motherwell fan wishes him all the success In the world regardless of where he goes even if that is Celtic.
  16. Not sure why the rage. Fee amount accepted. Player offered terms. Terms knocked back. That’s how it works, right. I suppose they arrogantly thought that their offer to the player wouldn’t be turned down.
  17. I’ve got to think that his agent is not blindly hawking him around English teams but more that there is at least 1 or 2 very interested.
  18. Based on the article it’s his representatives that have rejected the offer. Not sure how much he has been involved at all
  19. Please let that be true This May be the first I’ll have liked an agent
