Ciftci had a great game and looked much more comfortable as a loan striker with his back to goal holding things up. He is not the kind to run in behind so today suited him. Grimshaw was still MoTM though.

I thought Hendrie actually had quite a good game today. He is one that with a proper pre season could be a decent squad player. However not sure he is worth the investment as he will just block off a space forva development player. Demi Id get rid off. He has had lots of chances off the bench and Ive not seen anything to suggest he can offer anything. Plummer will be gone. Id do everything we can to keep Aldred. He has been fantastic. We have to accrpt that Cedric could be gone next year so he would be a ready made replacement with Hartley back in the fold and Maguire as back up.

Grimshaw for me. His intensity from the off was impressive. Snapped into tackles, broke up the play and passed it on magnificently. If fit should be a certain starter next week.

Really enjoyed that today. Very comfortable performance. Thought the intensity from Aldred and Grimshaw set the tone for the game. Both were excellent. Both Maguire and Turnbull put in creditable performances and showed enough to think they can feature next season. Ciftci was much improved as a lone striker. Took his goals well and was very unlucky not to get his hatctrick with a fsntastic effort off the crossbar. Secured 7th (and the £60k that goes with it) Got the clean sheet record. Really looking forward to next week now! -

He really wasnt. He had a great game. If fit he should be a certain starter next week. On that form we have someone who could dominate Scott Brown. -

Play strongest team from start. Get the game won. Then rest players if we are able. We need the money for 7th place. If we win tonight and Accies beat Saints then Sat might not mean anything. -

We go out and play our normal game. Do what we did to Aberdeen twice (League Cup and Semi) and to Rangers (League Cup). Press from the front, get in their faces and see where it takes us. Id like Steven McLean as ref. Outwith him anyone but Craig Thomson will do. -

I really hope the ticket numbers are higher than being reported. Im a little bemused if there really is such a slow uptake. Im going in a group of ten out of whom Im the only regular attender due to geographical reasons. I figured most folk would be in a similar position with folk coming from far and wide. The Scottish Cup has always had that draw for clubs like ours.... -
Thats just beautiful!

£60k to play for in a one off game cant be sniffed at for a club with our resources. Id be playing as close to full strength as possible. That would leave 2 weeks clear to final to nurse any injuries and rotate players where necessary in last 2 games. We also owe them a bloody nose after our last visit there! -

Im all in favour of our club standing up for us and I agree that the authorities should stop pandering to Celtic (and The Rangers). I just dont get what is to be gained by taking on that particular fight. What end we occupy at Hampden is an irelevance to me. The view / facilities are the same. If we were being disadvantaged in some way I would agree but it really isnt the case. There will be plenty better opportunities to challenge their dominance going forward. -

Why do people want Allan Burrows to get the Celtic end other than just to piss them off? All the best pubs are at the West side of the stadium, theres plenty room for all the buses to park that end and the railway station is 2 mins walk from the ground? Im more than happy with the way things have worked out..... -
The one on right is a belter. Id buy one of them the now!

Any mention of what sections are the singing sections? Couldnt see it anywhere..... -
Really good insight into the current thoughts and inner workings of the club. Really positive piece. Well done Andy!

Congrats to Flow. Despite his detractors I think its fair to say there have been significant improvements at the club both on and off the field. From the pitch, to the new scoreboard, new roof on the Hunter, our continued excellence in social media / marketing, signing policy, finally getting the Well Society over the line, re-structuring our debt re-payments, the list could go on. Sure there have been mistakes along the way, but its good to see the club as a whole seem to listen to the fans, learn from them and move on. Having someone who has the interests of the club at heart should never be the only criteria for a General Manager / Chief Exec but it is re-assuring that the guy in post is one of our own.

We should definitely be asking for the whole of West Stand and half the South as per 2011. I think that equates to about 16k. We will easily sell them. Ive aleady got double the amount of friends and family wanting to go to this one as went to League Cup Final. Lets get as many Well fans in the stadium as possible. -

Hard to some up all the feelings and emotions of yesterday. Incredibly proud of the team. We may not always be the prettiest on the eye. But for sheer effort, grit and determination, we are hard to beat. Every single player played their part. Not one sub par performance in the 14. The work rate of the midfield 3 Tait and Cadden was incredible to watch and the front 2 must be horrible to play against. Curtis Main wont ever replace Louis Moult in our hearts and minds, but he is fast becoming every bit as valuable to us in his own right. Despite being surprised at how comfortable the team were in the game I couldnt fully relax until the 3rd went in. Too many old scars I suppose. But what a release that goal was. Great tenacity to forge the opportunity and great composure to finish. So to the final and Celtic. It will be a tough ask, no doubt. They have a lot of talented players. However, there defence is suspect when put under pressure. If we press high up the park and do what we did to Aberdeen and make better use of the ball when we get it we may get some joy. Of the 4 times we have played them this season, the only game we let ourselves down was at Parkhead so we have shown we can compete with them. We just need to focus on what we do well and try and impose our game on them. With a little luck it might just be possible. PS. Im glad we are going to be in the West Stand. All the best pubs are that side and Im sure the Shed will be doing a pre match party again! -
Every single player put in a great shift today so hard to single one player out. Main is the obvious choice with his running and 2 goals. However, for a guy who has barely featured this season I thought Liam Grimshaw was absolutely outstanding. His gutbusting run to close the Aberdeen goalie towards the end typified the entire team performance and his fistpump when subbed and celebrations after final whistle show he really gets us and buys into the ethos of what the club is about.

Everyone played well today. No failures. McHugh Campbell and Cadden were tireless in midfield and Tait stuck to his task well. But Curtis Main is an absolute machine. The shot that hit woodwork would have topped off an excellent performance had it dropped in.
