  1. Spittal wasn't needed, nor does he fit in,the same goes for morris plus he doesn't look upto it at this level.mcginn is decent enough but I still think it was a bit of a strange signing.the recruitment has been a disaster so far this summer.
  2. I agree with that about hammell,I love him as much as the next well fan but this isn't the time for him, there's deep rooted problems in our squad and were in need of the right reinforcements, any appointment is a gamble but we need to limit that and go for someone with experience.im not sure on valakari either but it does feel like this time is the closest he has got to getting the job.
  3. Sadly alexander's fingerprints are going to be all over this squad for a while to come, even his style of play is going to take some getting rid of.he hamstrung a squad of players into playing one way and that won't disappear overnight.hopefully we get the right man and allow him to make some changes to the squad, which will be minimal at this stage but fingers crossed it's enough then there's still a full season to look forward too, where as if alexander had stayed the damage would have been severe.
  4. Were definitely in a horrible spot right now,the previous manager has left an absolute mess behind.we look to have been a badly coached side for a while now and it's going to take the new manager, whoever that is time to sort the mess out.were a soft touch that can't defend but yet at the other end our options are shocking,to find ourselves relying solely on a 31 year old up front is a disgrace, you could combine morris, efford and shields and you still couldn't make a competent player out of them.the squad we have is piss poor and I just hope there's enough of a budget left to bring some new faces is cause no matter who the new guy is there's to many that aren't good enough, normally in the past when we have been between managers you could still point to enough within the squad that will do a job but I just don't see it with this current lot.
  5. Were a complete shambles at the back with pitiful options in attack,if it's hammell or a new guy they have some job on there hands.
  6. That sums us up right there, were an absolute fucking shambles.
  7. Ojala was training in the photos the club tweeted out yesterday,so I'm assuming he will be in the squad for tomorrow with lamie being out.ive no idea on mcginley though.
  8. Dundee utd do seem to have recruited well this summer and of course that is a massive help but they looked to have been well prepared for last night, they were up for it as well as looking fit and sharp, where as we were the complete opposite.if you put the effort in you will get the rewards, they got what they deserved last night and we got what we deserved against Sligo.
  9. Hes a good character to have in the Scottish game but the reality is dick campbell is nothing more than a lower league manager.
  10. I agree with that, thomson has had one season managing in league 2 where his budget dwarved any other club in that league,he wins promotion at a canter then resigns in hope of a bigger job which is yet to materialize.thats not a great look for a start, could he just resign leaving you in the lurch if something better came his way.hes the flavour of the month cause he's an ex old firm player trying to make it now as a manager,we have darren odeas name being mentioned in the press for the same reason.i wouldn't want either at the club,if we're looking to go down the route of an inexperienced manager then you would think hammell would be in front of those two.
  11. If we're looking at going for experience then lambert would probably be my choice.his managerial career started off well with some promotions in england but the last few years hes jumped about a few clubs, albeit some big clubs.by all accounts he spends a lot of time in germany trying to learn from different managers over there.im not even sure he would be interested in us but he strikes me as similar to owen couple in that there options in england seemed to have dried up and a move back up here might be the best thing.
  12. Guys like thomson and O'Dea will get pushed cause there ex old firm players now trying to make it as a coach/manager but I don't see either being seriously in the running.if were looking to go down that road then you would think hammy would the one, providing he's interested in the job full time.
  13. Aye a wee bit of retrospective punishment for tait would be lovely.
  14. Taits an arsehole,he's lucky the ref isn't looking when he smacks kelly in the face.
  15. Of course we didn't play great but anybody expecting anything else is kidding themselves on.its always nice to start the season off with a win but even more so after thursday.lets just enjoy having a wee bit of feel good factor back.
  16. As fans not matter how long you have been going to games,we certainly don't go for the entertainment factor,I don't expect silky football every week and to be scoring 3 and 4 goals,I've been watching us for over 30 years and I could probably count on one hand the number of seasons where I could say I was really entertained by what was on show on the park.for me it's about getting a well coached team on the park, where everybody knows there role and playing in positions that suit them, that could be more than enough to still be entertaining and win games at the level we play at.
  17. Fair play to sligo over the two legs, you thoroughly deserved it.we have been playing that way for months and your management team have obviously watched previous games and knew exactly how to go about it,clearly you have competent people in charge while we have a manager that couldn't set up a game of subbuteo properly.
  18. Sligo played us like a fiddle, they had clearly watched games of ours from last season.the opposition know if they get men behind the ball when it's needed and bide there time and wait for the inevitable mistake from us,we then have absolutely nothing to break them down at the other end.the truth is sligo won the tie without having to break sweat.the blueprint to beat us is well and truly out there and I wouldn't be surprised if st mirren do the exact same on sunday.
  19. I'm in agreement with you that something just feels off behind the scenes.after last week's game alexander was saying things like it's only half time in the tie to on wednesday saying it was do or die time.you would think using words like do or die,the team would have came out with all guns blazing but it was the complete opposite,we didn't even look interested.it looks like alexander is talking but the dressing room isn't listening.
  20. Could you get anymore patronising if you tried.
  21. Some good points in there.i don't think alexander has a clue about changing formation or tactics,he knows one way to play and that's it,he will stick with the 433 with guys out of position, even when making a sub,it's just player on player off, there's no change in approach.i didn't think we would walk all over sligo but would have enough over the two games,I certainly wasn't expecting us to hardly lay a glove on them,we could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored.i think the most telling thing about tonight was that there was absolutely no reaction to last week,if anything it was worse,I think that's down to some players not being good enough but the players as a whole not interested in player for the manager.like you I don't see him going before sunday but wouldn't be surprised if it was to happen, there's little hope for a manager when the fans turn and judging by the comments I've seen on here and elsewhere tonight,it's a matter of when not if.
  22. Somebody mentioned on here the other day that maguire is just another stuart carswell, they nailed it with that comparison,he's very lucky to still be at a premier league club at what 24.he offers absolutely nothing,I'm not saying cornelius is the answer but atleast he could offer a couple of things that were lacking I'm midfield.
  23. mfc

    Alexander.

He had the brass neck to say we were the better team last week and should have won, then it was it's only half time in the tie and we will do better, the fans need to be with us and then it was it's do or die, clearly he's talking and nobody in the dressing room is listening.last week should have been a wake up call and as much as I want alexander gone the players involved over these 2 games have been a disgrace,we can talk about fitness and formations and all that but we should have had enough to get past sligo, clearly these players don't have any professional pride,we have to many strutting about thinking there something.
  24. Your position of defending the undefendable is embarrassing and you predict either a win, loss or draw on sunday,do you do the lottery numbers ?
  25. And when Alexander is gone sooner rather than later will you be breaking an egg on your face? of course not.
