  1. I would love it if this fixture list backfires and the top 6 is: Aberdeen, Celtic, Hamilton Motherwell Partick Rangers We would be due to play 4 of the other 5 at home.... Haven't looked at Hamilton or Partick's fixture to see what they'd be expecting, but they'd also be looking at getting a visit from the gruesome twosome. I know it's unlikely but who would have said Wales and Northern Ireland would've made the knockout stages of the Euros? or Leicester win the EPL?
  2. I think in this instance after Thistle made their statement the club were caught in we're damned if we do or damned if we don't scenario about making a statement. There would have been a fair few on here stating that the Board weren't looking after the club etc for letting this go by with nothing said. I would love to see an Accies supportes view on it but can't find an active forum for them...... Either way, we have been short changed with the way the fixtures have been divvied up with the Old Firm as for the travelling aspect, we do seem to get a lot of midweek visits up North and during the festive periods. This also works the other way as well. Recently we have had Aberdeen at us on the 2nd January, so it's not all one way traffic but comments were made when that fixture was announced as well, due to limited or no public transport. Lets get an 18 team league up and running, everyone plays each other twice (no need for fancy splits then) and try to regionalise things a little better for festive period. After all it wasn't that long ago the New Years Day fixture was considered a Derby day.
  3. Ben Heneghan, is probably unlikely as there has been a number of clubs keeping an eye on him since March. Depeneding which story you read it could be Hull, Brighton & Blackburn of Tranmere and Barrow.. Found this link with a whole range of possibilities and we aren't mentioned. http://www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chester-fc-could-ben-heneghan-11491996 As for Mickey Demetriou, looks like he got a knee injury in March........ http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36046638 This from an article looking at a replacement for Jamie McAllister at Exeter City
  4. So what happens after the split if Celtic, Sevco and ourselves in the same half? Do they come to visit twice? Probably not but imagine that would be costly to the club in terms of stewarding, policing etc. Especially if the league is still there to be won..... Would ahte tot hink that one of them won the league because they didn't visit Fir Park twice and the other lost there to lose the league.... Regardless of Sevco taking Utd's place in the fixtures, the balance of fixtures against those two should've been taken into account.
  5. Just been hit with 3 emails for the last man standing.
  6. Wait a minute... 'Flow going away on honeymooon..... how dare he!!!! Does he not realise he should be there 24/7 to make sure that Mark's coffee is warm for him while he's reading through the list of players from his German Contacts. Or realise that it's because of taking time off, he's making such a mess of our club....... no wonder we are in a such a state..... Oops sorry, slipped into CM mode there..... Just like to say all the best to Flow and his bride to be and to enjoy the honeymoon, I would've said enjoy the rest you'll get ...... but it's your honeymoon, so just enjoy.
  7. Maybe you're right. Just by the comment I thought he'd maybe be looking for someone mid 20's looking for a chance to claim the jersey for himself, whether that's this season coming or the one after.
  8. Got the email on the 2nd June for this. Just to make sure there was also an email sent out last night with the figures for May. I would suggest if you didn't get this, then you have been missed off the mailing list. I am sure if you email Craig.Hughes@motherwellfc.co.uk he can check for you.
  9. With Brill being 30 that goes against what McGhee said in that interview as well.
  10. Wonder what it's gonna be like when we actually sign a player....
  11. I received an email for it sent out on the 10th of May. Was planning on going but one of my lads has just been readmitted to Monklands, so I'll be there instead.
  12. Can't remember the last time I got excited at Champions League fixture being on or when I last watched one. (Barring our albeit brief visit)
  13. So now it's down to do we bleed a couple of more youngsters or go for the extra £200K ............... over to Mr McGhee and the Motherwell Board to decide.

    Relegation

My biggest concern is that Accies have just taken a point from Celtic, Killie have the new manager factor plus have added an experienced player in Julian Faubert to their ranks, so botht hose are likely to give them a lift. Utd have just added three points onto their tally for the season and apart from our result against them they haven't done too badly, in recent games when you add cup result in. So where is our lift coming from? Should we have got it when we signed Faddy? Shouldn't we have got when we beat Utd? 1-0 up at St Johnstone? 1-1 at St Johnstone, surely we should have had a chance of seeing out the game? But none of these seemed to have inspired us. I ain't including Partick in this equationbecause of their games in hand at present. On the last minute goals is down to the subs McGhee is making, or is just we have players that panic and can't see out 90 minutes of football? We need something to give us a little impetus to even think about starting a run of games, to gather enough points for survival and I have a feeling at the minute, despite how good some people think our team is, we are seen as being the weakest position just now. I would say a play-off scenario beckons again but could be worse. However a win against Thistle today and Accies next week can change that. The players have to realise that and the fans will need to do their bit and pull them through as well. No matter how dire the game is.
  15. Anymore of this nonsense and you can all go to the sandpit.... or Firhill depending on which has more.
  16. I take it you think we'll be 3-0 up with 90 seconds left Weeyin..... any longer than that we'd lose....
  17. I don't give a darn about form or who plays or who doesn't but a nice belated birthday present of 3 points and 5-0 win for the 'Well would be quite apt....... Seriously though .... 3 points please..... Misters McGhee, Lasley & Co.
  18. Good score so far, hopefully see this game out now, another goal would be good.
  19. That's the way I took it as well Scoojy but couldn't work out the fullbacks.
  20. Team is Ripley, Laing, McManus, Hall, Cadden, Lasley, Gomis, McFadden, Johnson, Moult and McDonald. Anyone work out the formation?
  21. The one thing that worries me is if we do put a run together are we going to see Killie, or any of the other teams about us, do a Ross County and put a run together to keep us where we are?
  22. My thoughts on the changes: Moult should've be on for Pearo, with Skippy sitting back a bit as soon as we equalised. Not saying that game would've been any different but Pearo seemed lost wherever he played on Saturday. Also as mentioned Las would've probably been able to at least annoy Roberts before he got the shot away. Why Ainsowrth was brought on with 2 minutes to do, I don't know. Too late to do anything in attack and left us a body short in defence to hold out for a draw. Anyway, all this is hindsight, so now let's not make the same mistakes at Killie.
  23. From the BBC Gossip Didn't realise that the club actually organised this.
  24. And fans of a certain defunct club (or Newco) aren't happy on twitter.... at least something to put a smile on my face today. Not a good period for the club recently on and off the park.
