  1. This weekend could prove interesting. Us against Killie and Ross County up against Partick. A win for us and a draw in the other game may be the best result. However I'd settle for County getting beat as long as we draw or better. As this is the game in hand over St Mirren we need to make it count.
  2. Five years ago to the day 27. Round 28/02/2009 15:00 A Inverness CT Inverness CT 2:1 (1:1) I'll take the same result again. Looking back over the last few years we seem to have done not too bad around this date. 25. Round 25/02/2014 19:45 A St. Johnstone FC St. Johnstone FC 0:3 (0:0) 29. Round 27/02/2013 19:45 H Celtic FC Celtic FC 2:1 (1:0) 28. Round 25/02/2012 15:00 A Celtic FC Celtic FC 0:1 (0:0) 28. Round 27/02/2011 12:45 H Celtic FC Celtic FC 2:0 (1:0) So glad it isn't St Johnstone we're playing :0) The players have got to realise sooner or later that they are playing for their futures, even if it isn't here. Whoever it is though that is going crying to their mates to get their thoughts out in the media need to stop acting like 5 year olds and start acting like the responsible adults and professional footballers they are. There is enough players in that squad who can defend and create things it's just a case of these players having the attitude to go and do it. I am talking about players like: Ainsworth who we all know when he's on his game he can turn games whether that's getting balls in the box or shooting. McManus wasn't a Celtic and Scotland player for no reason but his organisation of the back 4 this season has been laughable. That was before Barra came in. Lasley will cover every blade of grass for this club but if he isn't being helped by those around him then we're just wasting what time his legs have to give us. There should be someone else doing his job and we should be using him a little deeper and using him to get the attacks started with his passing. My ideal team for this weekend if everyone was fit would be Long Law, Ramsden, McManus, Hammell Lasley Grant, Pearson D.Thomas Erwin Moore Hammell is replaced by Watt if not fit. McManus and Ramsden only get the shout because we need experience in the CB area for this fixture, Law gets the nod over Reid, for no other reason than this is supposed to be where he plays, so lets see he can provide the extra we need there. Only dropped Sutton as I feel he needs a break from trying to lead from the front and the three young lads will have the pace and trickery required to break down the ICT defence.
  3. Just finished listening to it. I had to split it for work... Anyway good show, Flow covered a fair bit in there and will be interesting to see\hear about the other changes happening at the club. Well done to all involved. Best part of a decade ago I never thought I'd be saying that to something involving Busta and Jay unless it was something on the Only an Excuse lines, with horses etc..... Good to hear that Flow still has the supporter inside him as well. Although having a guy with the club at heart as a GM, lets hope it's a while before he resumes his seat in the East Stand. Between this and the Daily Record interview lets hope it puts to bed the question of what he does and doesn't do. Once again, well done everybody.
  4. As posted in the shoutbox, Hartley will fit right in....... Injury
  5. Better loans or short contract deals until the end of the season than being landed with paying PL wages in the championship. As long as we get the young un's tied up on long contracts I'll be happy.
  6. If we can get Steelboy to stay home and play with his bishop this afternoon rather than to-knight, we won't have to put up with his comments on how bad the game was despite us winning 2-0.
  7. Surprised I haven't seen this posted from last nights evening times Evening Times
  8. Sunday could be lower......... had been looking forward to the New Year games but yesterday has pure scunnered me. I suppose we should look at the wins and draw we got in the last 3 games and realise that is the level we are at just now. That in it's self is worrying and soul destroying. To then be hammered twice in the league by our near neighbours under two different managers, shows where the problem is. I know the Aberdeen fans will be laughing at us now and will be hoping their table topping side can put more past us. In truth most games this season we could have had 5 or more goals scored against us so we should be thankful it's not been the case. However these players at the club just now need to realise that the fault is with them, from Iceland through to where we are now. Folk can blame KB for not getting them fit during the close season but any professional footballer who cares about their health and longevity in the game, should be making sure that they are doing extra outside of training to get that fitness up. Have we hit rock bottom yet? I don't think so although I do believe there's not much farther to fall. I am praying that Ross County and St Mirren don't get a run together before we hit it or we will go down. Too many people say teams are too good to go down but it happens almost every year.
  9. I stand corrected Lobey, I was sure it was only a years contract but you are right it is 2 years. Think Dan has saved us from a hiding on a few occasions so I can't understand why he gets so much stick to be honest. There may have been a couple of mistakes early on but when you look back over the last month or two he has improved a lot.
  10. I think the one bit of business we do need to sort out is Dan. He only signed on a 1 year contract. I believe that Gunner's contract runs out this year as well. So we need to talk to Dan and see if we can offer a deal or start scouting for two new keepers. Hopefully though Bara doesn't do a McCall and let Marsh call the shots on that one.
  11. I can't remember where but I saw\heard an interview with Black, saying he was disappointed at the timing of the announcement of the new manager. He also said that he'd get yesterday done with and then decide what he was going to do.
  12. New man won't be announced until everything is tied up with the new owners according to the Record. They say a deal was agreed in principle with the society and are just waiting for the backers signature. Then they'll unveil Mitch. Daily Record Story
  13. Apparently the Scotsman suggests it's Shiels we'll make the move for.
  14. If the WS had until the end of the month to prove they had the funds to take over, I'd imagine that has been done one way or the other and the club will now move forward knowing where it stands. If the WS have failed, maybe the other interested party has pulled out or has still to start formal proceedings. Either way the Club may have a better understanding of where it stands and the what it can use to attract a new manager.
  15. They were relegated because of the 15 points deduction, not because they used young players.
  16. Hammell, Carswell, Lawson, Moore and McHugh are out going by Black's interview and 4 of the lads from the U20 win over Celtic have been added to the squad.
  17. BBC Gossip saying Steve Lomas has applied and Kenny Black hasn't applied yet, he also is feeling the loss of McCall. The Lomas Story from the Record
  18. BBC Gossip pointed me towards The Herald this morning and Billy McKinlay Billy McKinlay Story in The Herald.
  19. Today's BBC Gossip page with a few titbits on our likely new manager Billy Stark was immediately installed as the 6-4 favourite to become the new manager of Motherwell following Stuart McCall's departure on Sunday after the former Queen's Park boss quit as Scotland Under-21 coach. (The Scotsman) Exiting Scotland Under-21 coach Billy Stark has had his name put forward for the Motherwell manager's job, but the club will not make their choice until next week and Fulham Under-21 coach Peter Grant, former Ross County boss Derek Adams and former St Mirren manager Danny Lennon are others interested. (The Sun, print edition) Scotland assistant manager Mark McGhee has ruled out a return to Motherwell to succeed Stuart McCall, who resigned on Sunday.(Daily Express, print edition)

  21. BBC Gossip Former Watford head coach Billy McKinlay, former Celtic and West Brom assistant Mark Venus, former Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo, former Stevenage boss Gary Smith and former Iceland coach Atli Evaldsson have put their names forward to succeed Stuart McCall at Motherwell
