  1. Baffling lineup today. To be honest I was quite happy to see Falkirk win as I'd like to see us play a part in the relegation of St Mirren or Killie. We are shite though, absolute shite!
  2. Obviously a European trip would be immense but the likelihood is that it will just fuck up our season. Full focus on the SPL and cups will do me nicely. While the trip to Nancy was probably my most eagerly anticipated event as a 'Well fan, this season has been rather uninspiring.
  3. Heard a rumour on and off for a number of months that we have been keeping tabs on A Hibs players. Putting 2+2 together but Ross Chisolm is quoted in the paper today saying he has a couple of options in Scotland if he doesn't sign on at Hibs.
  4. Reading up on Dobbie last night, sounds like a right talent now that he has lost a few pounds. Reckon we will be priced out of the market for him though, same with the Livi boy Griffiths. Mark Fortheringham, left sided midfielder. I'd take him in an instant.
  5. Eh? The Scottish Cup would be a sham without a European slot. Its bad enough that we have one diddy cup.
  6. Was talking about thr Sweden and Trinidad games when driving by Easter Road today. Can't believe it was that long ago. I mind Brian Kerr coming on in the Trinidad game. That was a fine day with Fletch and Quashie running the show.
  7. Dobbie could turn out to be a Jason Scotland or Andy Barrowman. Maybe a risk worth taking. I'd be more tempted by the boy at Clyde. He appears to be establishing a reputation. As for Coach, I'd reinstate him as captain. meanwhile if we lose Smith, Hughes, Malcolm and possibly Klimpl I'd be chasing, Alan McCormack, Paul Gallacher x 2 and Scott Arfield if Falkirk are relegated.
  8. Wishing to capitalise on the fell good factor gained at Hampden yesterday, i'd be surprised if Falkirk don't reduce prices. Otherwise, I'd rather put £21 on a Falkirk victory!
  9. Is John Colquhoun still Hughes' agent? Think Tynecastle will be one of the more likelier destinations for him as he seems eager to stay north of the border. At the time of his arrival I'd probably say he was our most exciting singing for a number of years. Shall be gutted to see him go but wish him all the best regardless of where he ends up!
  10. Mate at work is a diehard Hibs fans, going to see if he fancies coming along to this!
  11. Prior to Christmas, we were gash and were being soundly beaten. However, how many games have we drew post-Christmas that we should have won? Porter would have been the difference.
  12. Nail on the head methinks. Last season McGhee had faith in his attack minded players. My favourite game under McGhee remains the demolition of Hibs at Easter Road when our front 6 were Hughes, Lasley, McGarry, Roscoe, Clarky and Porter. Nowadays our apparent strength is in defensive minded players, hence the inclusion of 2 defensive minded players in our midfield!

    Setanta

Hate Setanta, love Sky. Would like to see some transfer activity in the summer.
  14. Absolutely 100% spot on!
  15. Usually find myself nodding in agreement with what you say Gazzy but I feel your a wide of the mark with your thoughts on Yesterday. Time and time again, McGhee has made bizarre changes for a crunch game. I think it is fair to say that he does have some belief that he is a tactical genuis and almost every time it has backfired on him. You can go as far back as the CIS Cup against Rangers last season when IIRC, he left out Porter and had Roscoe up front his self!!? The less said about Dundee, Accies, Nancy and St Mirren x 2 the better...
  16. Jim Paterosn would probably have went backwards this season in a similar manner to the rest of them. Roscoe we didn't have a cat in hells chance of keeping. As for Porter though, we basically kicked him out the door in order to get £300-£400k. If we still had him, the chances are we would still be in with a shout of Europe and possibly have a Scottish Cup semi-final to look forward to. Of course I understand the economics of football but the day we sold Porter, our season effectively finished.
  17. I'll be delighted if we go down this route. Its a risky game but I'd love to see us unearth some genuine talent who will view a move to Motherwell as the chance of a lifetime. There have been a few murmers about Lee McCulloch. I'd much prefer us make a move for Pat Clarke as opposed to Big Lee who has achieved as much as he is ever going to achieve in football. Meanwhile if Falkirk go down, I'd fire any money we have towards Scott Arfield. He's not had the best of season but he has the potential to be International class. I'm excited about the new season already. Fuck the Top 6.
  18. I never made the game today due to feeling a tad rough. Admittedly however, I've seen me going to many a game in the winter months over the years feeling a lot worse. The prospect of battling it out for a top 6 spot just didn't prompt any sense of excitement today. However I will be back for a couple of games before the end of the season on the presumption that a fair few youngsters are given a run in the team. If Murphy takes the opportunity to suggest that he is the real deal at this level and/or we unearth another young talent that looks capable, then we can go into the summer with some hope.
  19. The split is farcial so as far as I'm concerned today has no bearing on McGhee's future. I've made it clear on a number of occassions that I don't particularly like McGhee, however if he is a good manager. And if he want to stay at Motherwell, then I want him to stay. We do need a clearout however, so that we have a fresh team eager for success.
  20. McGhee is an arse to be honest. Heard on the Radio this morning that he doesn't expect the game to be tight as we'll go for goals early on to get it settled. While he has written off Hibs chances. Team talk sorted for St Mirren and Hibs!
  21. Cheers for the feedback mate. Wish George Burley seen what we do in McNaughton as I think he could do a more than decent job for Scotland at left back. All the best in the race for promotion!
