  1. Does Fletcher not have a few years to run on his contract? Thats the reason for the difference, albeit the gulf in price shouldn't be quite so wide. I think £800k is very good business.
  2. Boothroyd came in to my mind early doors but I thought he would be well out of league ala Coppell, Jewell etc. Always seems to talk sense on the telly and done wonders in getting Watford to the Premiership. I'd be delighted if he got the job.
  3. I agree. Bristol pretty much hit their peak in 07/08 and I can only see them going one way now. Very decent manager mind you.
  4. Anything in the region of £750k with a sell on clause is good business. Maybe Sanchez is looking to get Sproule in return as well?
  5. Aye both clubs deserve credit for the turnround. Thing is, I've pretty much talked myself out of going.
  6. Fingers crossed that is the case mate as it would signal a welcome change in Boyle's thinking. Just got a bad feeling about this however.
  7. If we are touting our talent then that does set a few alarm bells ringing.
  8. Whatever the future holds, bring it on. We always survive. I just wish the club would appoint someone that is genuinely interested in the future of the club. From Lambert all the way through to Clarkson we have been raped due to players running their contract down. Sadly McGhee had no long term interest in the club or Clarkson, Quinn & Reynolds would have been signed up on longer deals.
  9. I'm somewhat saddened that we are verging on the end of an era. While their form dipped at various times, both Clarkson and Quinn have been excellent products of the youth system. Even if we manage to succeed in replacing both players with similar quality, I fear that the heart is being ripped out the club. I wish the pair of them all the best in the future and look forward to supporting them on Scotland duty. Paul Quinn in particular gets a hard time on here but I believe he has the ability and mentality to carve out a successful career.
  10. I don't know Roadrunner but that was my impression when I read the post.
  11. Hughes and Buzz may well have been offered deals but I doubt McGhee made any genuine effort to keep them.
  12. Don't think Sbragia is interested in being a manager, if we could get him involved at the club though that would be a major coup.
  13. Spot on. However is the capacity of the ground no about 3000, which would be more than enough room to accomodate everyone that wants to go!? Or is it only the seated areas that can be used?
  14. I just think it all hinges on the announcement of a new TV deal.
  15. I'm slowly losing interest in the jaunt. Too much hassle.
  16. I'm going to try and hold back before booking anything. Bus trip may be the most plausible route if its got a pisser. Think TinthePark will rule a few folk on sadly.
  17. Aye, if the likes of this clown were to get the job then it would send an overwhelming message that we have fuck all money. Trying to keep faith in the prospect of Sanchez arriving. I understood that he was top of the list by some distance.
  18. Fuckin hell - Sandy Clark! Sunday night depression has well and truly kicked in!

Pretty chuffed with the new top! Can you get the goalie top with short sleeves?
  20. If Sanchez wants it, Sanchez will get it. I'm intrigued to here that Mio has been mentioned though. I could have envisaged him coming back to the club along with McCart but he doesn't appear to be in with a shout.
  21. We didn't have enough money for McAllister last time round and we ended up with Porter & Hughes. I'm not saying Boyle will repeat such a feat but I imagine McAllister would have been chasing an unrealistic transfer budget.
  22. Did Dundee ever snap up Pat Clarke? The boy Harkins seems to be getting hyped up a fair bit.
