Looks like he will fit in well. Good touches and was always looking for the ball, and could forge a good partnership with Hammell. Wanted the ball to feet and knew who was around him. Useful addition , pity about his age
Sad news indeed. First met Wellworn in JD's when Pie organised our shed reminiscence day a few years ago. More recently saw him prior to the pre season friendly at Ayr, holding court in the Tam O' Shanter pub.
Sadly missed.
Just too young to remember the Ancell Babes and i also started watching 'Well under Howitt. Dixie Deans was my hero and seemed to score every week, another centre stolen by Celtic for almost nothing.
Decent performance for his first game back. Gave 100% and that always goes a long way in my book. He will benefit from a few games and is playing for a contract so its down to him to prove he desrves one.
All the best to him
Great game - no segregation either. In the short clip of the Well fans you will see they are mixed in with the h**s. We used to be surrounded - thats what you call atmosphere.
As others have stated we came down to their level - again. We needed a change earlier and it looked like we were making one on 59mins with a sub stripped and being given instructions only for him to dissapear. Blackman, Humphrey and Jennings get marks for effort.
Referee had a shocker and wasted almost as much time as Accies. He let the time wasting go as he wanted the game over asap. He had no control over the players who barracked him all game, and he just wanted out of there.
A good fighting team prformance and a win against a team we are known to struggle against and some folk on here still want to slag off our own team.
Lasley going off was a big change for the team as he was playing with enthusiasm and skill.
Gow did well to hold the ball up and find space when left up front on his own.
Humphrey is electric and his crossing is improving but decision making could be better.
Murphy can hold the ball and beat men well
Everyone gave 100% IMO and a repeat on Tuesday would be welcome
MON THE 'WELL
We did not collapse last year in the 3-3 draw albeit we got a dodgy penalty. We need to keep our width and stretch a defence which might be struggling a bit after international duty.
Theres a terrific photo in one of the bars in Fir Park of Bobby Russell rounding the goalie before scoring. Entitled "The Winner" - says the lot.
Good days
Agreed Jim and I have to admit I was not impressed by Humps crossing at first but I think the coaches are working with him on his final ball. Was very direct on Sat and we might have picked up on Hearts lack of pace from their game at Falkirk in midweek.
Agree with most of real dossers prevous post.
Lasley put in a shift.
Humphrey makes too many poor decisions after he gets past his man and crossing is woeful at times.
Hateley got caught on wrong side at the equaliser.
John Sutton was not at the races.
The gaffer took too long to change it as the game was there to be won and we lacked abit of spark.
