Here's the story Lee Erwin to Charlton Karl Robinson is battling old club MK Dons to sign Leeds striker Lee Erwin, according to reports. Erwin, 22, scored eight goals in a loan spell at Oldham last season. TEAMtalk says Leeds are prepared to let the former Motherwell forward leave for free, but with a sell-on clause. And it has alerted Charlton and MK Dons, with League One rivals Walsall, Oldham and Portsmouth said to be interested.

Forgetting about possible missed signing due to them getting better offers, what should he say? We are going to sign two or three decent guys and five or six mediocre ones - be serious.

Over in Mexico at the moment and have just been talking to a Canadian guy who watches SPFL games on a Sat morning and he was saying we looked good last season against the old firm and thought we should have finished higher by what he seen - told him the rest of the games we were shit. Guy is 63 and still plays week in week out loves football and knows a hell of a lot about Scottish/English/European football - bored the hell out the wife for the last 2 hours in the bar

Thought most folks agreed the keeper would be No1 priority but agree the replacing McD should be up there. With a couple of weeks of the window still to go I'm hoping something will happen but as others have said we can't force quality players to come when they have offers from other clubs also.

Pretty much agree with this. 1st half we pretty much bypassed the midfield so it is hard to judge the midfield. Frier looked ok on the wing but I wasn't happy that both fullbacks played so far forward leaving up open at the back. Second half was better we played through the midfield more and the fullbacks stayed more in a defensive roll. Overall not a bad workout.

Will be interesting to see how we line up and if the trialists or youngsters get a shot. Thinking of heading up if it's not a closed game

The difference is that Paul Slane, in my opinion, had the talent to succeed at the highest level ( internationalist) but blew it mentally when given the chance. Dom on the other hand only has the potential to make it at SPFL but has failed to make the step up to SPFL level so far.

I'm sure there is extra cash from the league this year and £230000 from celitic making the group stages of the champions league so some cash is available.

Good start to our summer signing campaign. Well done to all concerned. Hope this is the benchmark for future signings.

Just heard that Michael O'Halloran has knocked back an offer from us for £1800 per week. Rangers were willing to pay him the difference of the rest of his contract i.e. £3200 per week. Would have been a permanent move. Source was a guy at work who used to work at Ibrox and knows a few folk there.
