    Fir Park

Was there not talk of £18 - £20 million back when Boyle was chairman? Obviously before the bank's crashed in 08.

    Fir Park

Any new stadium would only be possible if we were to get Fir Park sold for redevelopment first.
  3. If it's an EPL team then I hope the figure is higher than £500K. They pay more than that for unproven kids of 16/17
  4. Although I'd like and be happy with him staying, now is the optimal time to sell him. If we wait until summer, with only a year left on his contract, it will be a case of take what we can get before he can sign a pre contract agreement next February. At the moment we can be more demanding in negotiations.
  5. I'm sure that when McCall was manager there were players that he wouldn't play against Killie away because he thought the park would injure them
  6. I'm at work just checking when I can but by our recent standards most folk are probably to scared to celebrate until game is over.
  7. Might have covers over the grass to avoid it getting to heavy - still expect it to cut up badly.

    Trainbus

Sad news. Condolences to his family.
  9. Wouldn't like to see him move on until the summer. Our defence is not great but Ben has been a constantly good player who I think we would miss badly. Keep him until summer and hopefully gradually bring in the youngsters
  10. I believe that what I've said is factual and 100% correct. As a society we must be able to trust that the club is being run in a correct way and that mistakes like this do not happen - that too much money to lose out on.
  11. Yes, I was told we missed out on a development fee of £260,000 before it was known he was away and have no reason to doubt the person. I've also repeatedly asked on here and never had anyone say that a fee was received.
  12. To be fair how much of this is down to the management not selecting them or they were not ready/good enough? How many youngsters have left us due to lack of game time that have went on to bigger better clubs? Most of our youth players have either had the game time and jumped at the 1st chance - normally without us getting a fee - or have not had contracts renewed and moved down a league. The only one that jumps to mind recently is Robbie Leitch and he got away due to not being offered a new contract within the correct time which let him sign without a fee being payed - would Burnley have paid £250,000 for him? I doubt it.
  13. Wasn't at the game yesterday but it's interesting to see the 3 guys getting the most votes are guys we signed in the summer. Is this a sign that they are settling in now or are the rest that pish? Also, with our youth players now getting some game time can we look forward to seeing some of them collecting votes before the end of the season?
  14. It's one thing picking our best, it's another getting them to perform at their best.

    Mascots

Not sure what's happening but has it something to do with the antics of one of them at a Celtic corner last week?
  16. If there was no discount, or one that I thought wasn't to our advantage, then I'd rather the money was in Motherwells account earning a little interest rather than someone else's account. Take the £1.5m discussed, 60% is £900,000 giving at least 3% interest over the next 4 years which would be worth £108,000 or £27,000 per year which could be used to either pay a youth player or added to the wages offered to someone we're trying to sign which could make the difference between him signing for us or one of our rivals. This player then could possibly be sold on before the debt is due to be payed giving us more cash in the bank. It seems crazy to me to pay off an interest free loan with money that could be working for the club.
