I noticed from Pie & Bovril that Shea Gordon appears to be on trial with Partick (Loan?) and Adam Livingstone is with QOS; again maybe a load deal. Can anyone confirm?

Of course not but its a definite factor; one of several though. At the very least it demonstrates to potential buyers that Scotland's international management rates the player. Not every decent player wins an international cap so that does say something.

Pretty much my view. I'd perhaps accept £900k + add ons. Am I right in thinking that the club calculated his development fee value at £600k? Other clubs and their fans talk up their players so why shouldn't we? If we don't get a decent offer, we should hold onto him and collect £600k next year. As the African says lets not forget he's a full international now and if he's as "mediocre" (or however you want to phrase it) as some of our fans seem to think why are bigger clubs interested in him?

Agreed. He's being brought in to remedy shortcomings in central midfield.

I'm expecting 1 more arrival, a striker, and perhaps 1 or 2 departures. Another youngster or 2 out on loan. But what do I know!!

Pretty much agree with that. If it isn't broken why fix it? Our defence played pretty well. That said, its only right that we work on weaknesses and that will involve changing some personnel in midfield and up front. Last season we often complained about lack of creativity, pace and ball retention in midfield and Robbo seems to be addressing that. I'm not in favour of playing one striker up front unless you have the right personnel and I don't think we do....just yet.

Reasonably happy with both kits and pleased to see white shorts for the home, although neither is earth shattering. I just hope that the claret hoop goes all the way round. Time to move on now.

I agree with your overall thinking Fizoxy but still think we're light up front and expect another striker to arrive. I don't think Tanner is an out and out striker and don't know much about Johnson's position ie AM or striker.

Given the plethora of midfielders on our books, I'm expecting one or two to leave before the window closes. There may be interest in Cadden & Campbell and I'm not sure where Frear fits in now. Our new signing may put Bigi or McHugh under pressure. Davie Turnbull may go out on a development loan.

I don't think he is similar in style to the midfielders we already have Greg. He's more of an all rounder who can combine aggression, tackling, good passing, and ball retention. Captain Oats summed up his apparent skills well on Pie & Bovril. He's more of a combination of what we already have, rolled into one player. He seems comfortable on the ball and able to create openings. Almost all of our current midfielders are one dimensional with the possible exception of Allan Campbell. If he turns out well it will strengthen our midfield and add a bit of much needed creativity.

Apologies, I misread your post, although it was a wee bit contradictory. Yes, its stronger but I'd argue also better in terms of quality, although only time will tell about that.

Some more midfielders may yet leave either by being transferred or through loans. I don't get the negativity about our new players. Th may well be an upgrade in quality we just don't know yet. Of those who have left the only one I'm half sorry to see leave is Ciftci and even then I'm by no means sure. Are you really saying that Griffiths, Plummer, Hendrie, and Petravicius are better than those we've brought in? Aldred may be but time will tell. Give the new lads a chance.

I don't gamble myself but we all know that many many of our fans and indeed members of this site love to do so and presumably they will be especially pleased. A good deal for the club so as FirparkCornerexile says well done.

Pleased with our business so far. Taylor-Sinclair looks a good signing on paper at least. Its good too to get in fresh faces early so they can get a full pre season and hit the ground running when competitive football kicks off. Given that our business hasn't finished yet its turning into slightly more than fine tuning although the turnover of personnel won't be on the same scale as last season. Having signed players of 6-3,6-2 and 5-11 we're turning into a real team of thugs and hatchet men aren't we?

As others have said its a bit ambiguous. However given his other comments I'll plump for a player who is known to us or is well known in the game ie a player of status as opposed to physically big. That said he could be both.

Does anyone know why there's no fixtures on 18 August (a mere 3 Saturdays into the season), 8 September, 14 October and 17 November? Very much a stop start programme. International breaks??
