  1. I don't know that we another Campbell type of player, Greg. Initially he came across as a defensive midfield destroyer similar maybe in style to McHugh or perhaps Grimshaw but as the season wore on he added an attacking threat to his game. We don't have any other player who can do a similar job.
  2. No surprise whatsoever. Perhaps now we can put these potential signings behind us and move on to more realistic targets.
  3. Career wise I wonder where he's going. He spent a fair few months at Airdrie last season and I assumed that he be brought back this season. However if thats him going out on loan already I wonder if he has a future with us.
  4. That is my reaction too, not unless we intend to remove the concrete steps too?
  5. On the basis of last season's performances and Robbo's comments, we're obviously looking to sign a creative midfielder and I reckon at least one midfielder will depart, so no real surprises. Full marks to the club for being ambitious but I never really reckoned O'Halloran was a goer and I think the same about Crawford. Although he hints that uncertainty is getting to him the ball is in his court. I can see him dragging things out until August to find out if an English club approaches him, but time will tell.
  6. A traditional shirt with claret band on amber and white shorts please.
  7. Surprised by the Murray rumour. Yes, he's pacy but thats about all. I guess if he's played for Hibs that worth a few thousand in itself. Hopefully this is going nowhere.
  8. I read earlier that Accies are investing £750k in a new 3G pitch. Don't know how they can afford that as just a few months ago they reportedly lost £800K in an online scam and the club was in dire financial straits. It just doesn't tie up. Their very articulate Chairman Les Gray said just a year or two back that their pitch was first class and would stand comparison with any in Scotland. If that is the case why rip it up?
  9. I could live with that .................as an Accies top.
  10. I had the same thought Dave. Were players comparing like with like? How many pros played on every single senior clubs pitches?
  11. Clyde game will be on BT Sport. A wee bit of cash into our kitty. An odd choice though.
  12. The top ranked pitch in Scotland is at Stirling - is that not artificial?
  13. A great and deserved accolade for the hard work and money our club and staff have invested in our pitch. They've turned it from one of Scotland's worst to one of its best and the improvement is there for all to see. Not surprisingly Accies was rated worst in the top flight and they are replacing theirs this summer, although I'm not sure by what exactly. Quite shocked really at the likes of Hearts and Aberdeen, who despite having far larger budgets than us have much poorer pitches due to lack of investment.
  14. Too early to say either way. Yes, it may just mean that fans are renewing earlier but equally it may signal an increase in sales. Time will tell.
  15. Not surprisingly St Johnstone are also in the hunt for him. Up until now they've always been able to come up with more cash than us so it'll be interesting this time around if they land him.
  16. Ticket sales almost double compared to the same period last year.
  17. Quite honestly there's not much difference for me between Celtic winning the league year on year and Celtic and Rangers/Sevco winning the league year after year. With a few exceptions thats how its always been since I began watching football.
  18. When was the last time we had a realistic chance of winning the title? Maybe in the early mid nineties and even then many of us weren't convinced. Certainly I can't recall any time since I began going to FP that I started out the new season thinking that we'd had a realistic chance of winning the league title (old second/first division titles apart).
  19. I don't know if its a case of UEFA failing to address the gulf as much as actually creating the gulf, in large part.
  20. * Reduction in costs by cutting down on duplication * Reduction in the potential for conflict * Reduction in bureaucracy * Reduction in the number of "blazers" * New organisation and a chance to start afresh (not guaranteed of course)
  21. Cataclysmic change, and thats what we require, must start at the top but recently Ian Maxwell announced that he doesn't see any benefit in the SFA and SPFL merging. That tells me that we'll keep on making the same mistakes for years to come.
  22. I haven't actually set up an account yet as I bought my ticket in person. Does anyone know if you can set up an account without actually using yet? Also could a club/group account be set up?
  23. I had the same problem for a few weeks but it seems to have been rectified the past day or two.
