  1. Ha. Yes after the starting line up doesn't work in the first half!
  2. There were a few options. Crankshaw and Cornelius in and Shields and Spittal out.
  3. I think thats a fair comment Fizoxy. Right now the society and hence our club needs us more than ever. I know the Society has its sceptics and thats fair enough. The model has its limitations certainly. However without it the fact is that the club would have gone into administration again a few years ago. So, it has, and continues to serve an absolutely critical role in the health of our club. In recent times, communication has undoubtedly improved. But, as you say the website needs a vast improvement. Its a window to the world. Have you communicated your concern and ideas to the Society as they are always looking for feedback? If not you should do so. In view of your comments thats just what I'll be doing. We need to make it easy for fans to sign up and donate. The grouse that I have is that you need to set up a direct debit to make a one off donation and then cancel it. Not everyone wants to do that. As an aside there will be Society day on 18 February (Hearts game) and there's been a call for volunteers - I hope folk will respond to that appeal for help. I would if I lived closer to Fir Park. This will include a bucket collection. Its high time we had a high profile Society presence on a matchday, but of course that depends on volunteers coming forward. I received an email from the Society yesterday and your post has jolted me into responding to it. I hope others do the same. The more the merrier.
  4. I completely forgot, we've also got the left back position to think about following Penney's departure; so thats really positions we should be looking to fill. Very wishful thinking! .
  5. Good to see Danzaki has finally put pen to paper and a warm welcome to him, but I'd still like to see another central defender and an experienced defensive midfielder - wishful thinking probably but it might help our finacial position slightly, if Shields moves out on loan to a Championship club.
  6. Depends how you define recent......................St Johnstone?
  7. I don't know if we'll get a fee for Liam Kelly to be honest, given the market for goalies. We might however get a fee a for Max Johnston, especially if he extends his deal. Other than that, KVV?
  8. Thats a very dark picture to paint. IF we get relegated and went part time it would mean clubs like Hamilton, Raith Rovers and Inverness could sustain a core of full time players whereas we couldn't?
  9. A tad negative David. You quote St Johnstone, Ross Country and Livingston as having only slightly lower averages than we do, but don't say that Kilmarnock and St Mirren have only slightly higher averages than we do. In the latter's case, it maybe because they're on a relatviely good run this season. In truth the're's not much difference between the averages of half of the Premiership clubs, although their financial models may be different.
  10. Queens Park and Dundee looking to take Conor Shields on loan.
  11. I remember seeing Benny play too. Very sad.RIP.
  12. He's 26 and now on his 6th club, inclusive of loans. A pattern beginning to emerge maybe ?
  13. Barry Maguire to Dundee on loan? (Rancid)
  14. There are a few more clubs like Darvel, Kelty and Cove who can easily compete with lower level senior clubs. Pretty professional outfits.
  15. Well done to Darvel. Possibly one of the biggest cup upsets in Scottish football history. To put things in perspective though, I'd like to compare their wage bill, and those of several other non senior league teams, with those of Divison 1 or 2 clubs.
  16. Anyone who thinks they or Linlithgow are wee junior clubs is seriously naive.
  17. I think Dykstra was in goal and Chris McCart was redcarded for dissent.
  18. I'd say we need 3, although thats unlikely in the extreme. A defensive midfielder, a left back and a central defender to replace Lamie. To make that happen we'de need to ship out some players like Morris and O'Donnell. Even at that it would be difficult to do in this window. Can't quite fathom out what happening with SOD. As far as left back is concerned we've surely known for some time that Penney wasn't going to hang around and should be well down the road of sourcing a replacement.
  19. I think some folk are now being a bit harsh on Penney. Don't think he was any worse latterly than he was months ago. He was always good on the attack but a poor defender. That never really changed. Despite the hype I never really bought into him. He's moved on and from what I hear it should be a toss up between SOD and Max Johnston for the LB berth as things stand.
  20. Yes, a wins a win and we're through. Not a classic performance though from what I hear. Great support - over 1,000 fans (according to the font of all knowldge the BBC). Out of interest who played left back?
  21. Who is at left back????? Slightly odd looking defence.
  22. In this instance then, I'm probably one of the "negative" posters. I guess then everyone looks for something different from this place. Personally, I look for a range of different opinions to allow me to gauge the mood of the support, as a whole. How likely that is in an internet forum, I don't know. If there are negative, or indeed positive, elements within our support, I want to know about them. A degree of negativity within any group is natural and shouldn't be ignored. Sometimes its justifed sometimes its not. Without listening we run the risk of forming a skewed or false view of matters.
  23. Matt Connelly joins Stranraer on loan until the end of the season.
