Irvine signed a 2 year deal with Ross County today.

I reckon we will start the same as last night more or less. Even if a goalie comes in I can't see Bara sticking him straight in unless he is very very good. Thomas I don't see starting given him and Cadden went to the u20s tourney and didn't play last night. I think the only likely change will be who partners Skippy up front. Either Moult or Fletcher.

I am usually one of the positive types on here but I do agree the Samson signing would be underwhelming.

Just watched the highlights. First goal was tremendous. Quick ball out from the goalie, lovely play and pass by Clarkson (I think) and great finish from Lionel. I would imagine we will see a few of those goals this year. Second goal was a nice finish from Watt too. Would be great to get a few goals from our right and left back this year. Moult should have stuck that header away but was just underneath it a bit. His second chance he just couldn't get round it - wouldn't say he mucked it up. Interesting to hear Bara saying it was Derby we were meant to playing on Tuesday but they pulled out to play another game. Hence, the quick decision to go to Sligo. Looking forward to the PNE game next week.

You only need to look as far as Keith Lasley to see you can become effective in the middle without much pace.

For me we have just about the right balance of experience and youth...whether you think they are good enough experienced players is a different story! Hammell and McManus in Defence, Pearson and Las midfield, Clarkson up front. Ainsworth is fairly experienced too. Maybe we could do with anther experienced attacker and goalie but that's about it for me.

As others have said - comes with good pedigree. Proof will be in the pudding but seems promising.

Maybe trying things out to see how people perform in different areas? Makes sense to do it now rather than during games.

P-Humped. Like some have said - it's all about the real games. That said, a couple of decent wins is a nice confidence builder for team and fans alike!
