  1. Hope he does well and does screws the nut. I generally don't want to see anyone do badly unless they go to the old firm. He's got ability in the feet but needs to get there in his head for first team football to make a success of it. Interestingly (probably up for debate to be fair...) but he's deleted nearly every tweet...taking out any Celtic mentions and the nonsense that got him some stick on here. New start and all that.
  2. I quite like the mini league idea but's a half baked attempt at summer football in my opinion. Not enough time from end of the season to the new one starting to have a proper pre season.
  3. I'd be surprised and disappointed if Moult moves in Scotland. I think he can do a lot better than that. However if they come in with a bid and there are no bids on the table from down south he might just take the up in wages and likely move to England once he has been there a couple years
  4. We don't need to replace him. He wasnt even in the team and didn't really provide anything off the bench. Money can be used elsewhere in the team. Right move for both parties.
  5. Agreed, I'd be very very surprised if it did. The move if it happens will be to free up wages.
  6. More coverage in the record today stating Thomas to Killie before they play Ayr on Friday.
  7. Goal conceded from a corner, near post We hit the post a couple minutes before.
  8. BBC Cumbria Radio commentary: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/40558580
  9. A lot of trialists in the Barrow team tonight. Although, that said, it was similar when they lost 2-1 to Blackburn at the weekend.
  10. Carson Tait Heneghan Kipre Hammell Bigi McHugh Cadden Rose Frear Fisher Perhaps? Argument that that's our strongest 11 excluding Moult and arguing for Tanner and Bowman. McManus to play back up this early season perhaps.
  11. What I think is it's pre season, with loads of new players, and we don't know how we will play yet come competitive league action given the differing teams sent out in our first 3 friendlies. Baraclough had us looking lovely in pre season knocking it about and well...that went great. Also 500 extra season tickets sold to date compared to last year.
  12. Good to see some youth players in the scotland squads again - 4 of them as well. Only bettered by Celtic in regards total numbers. https://twitter.com/ScottishFA/status/884794686283669507
  13. It's such a decent post your'e the saviour. :-)
  14. Would be delighted with Jones if true.
  15. It strikes me that most of the posts that are being fairly critical about Robinson and the team are also the same posters, in the main, who wanted Robinson out before the end of last season also.
  16. £400k bid Moult knocked back according to the - https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/motherwell-warn-aberdeen-louis-moult-deal-will-take-big-fee/ ---- EVENING EXPRESS BY SEAN WALLACE, 10 JUL 2017 10:36 Aberdeen have been warned they will have to splash major cash if they are to land Motherwell striker Louis Moult. The Dons have had bids of £400,000 and £250,000 rejected by the Steelmen for the attacker. That is nowhere near Motherwells valuation of Moult who still has a year left on his contract. It is understood Motherwell will look for at least half a million for a player who boss Stephen Robinson has already offered a new deal to. Pittodrie boss Derek McInnes has turned his attention towards Moult, 25, as Preston striker Stevie May looks set to remain at Deepdale. McInnes still remains hopeful of signing Scotland cap Shaun Maloney although the deal has stalled due to an injury problem flagged up by Maloney. Motherwell boss Robinson warned the Dons: Aberdeens bid wasnt anywhere near our valuation. Aberdeen secured former West Ham and Cardiff City striker Nicky Maynard, 30, on a one-year deal before the Uefa deadline to register players for the Europa League second qualifying leg. That closed at 11pm on Friday and McInnes had been hopeful of adding another signing before that deadline. However, one wild card signing can still be registered up to 24 hours before Thursdays first leg tie against NK Siroki Brijeg of Bosnia. McInnes would not comment on Moult, but said: We can still make one signing after the deadline, up to 24 hours before the game, but from an understanding point of view we would like to get them with us as soon as possible We want to make a couple of signings as it is important for the rest of the squad that we bring in players who they see as really helping us. We have made a few enquiries and offers for several players over the last few weeks. Some you get and some you dont. It is never easy signing players. I am looking to bring in a player who can play several positions as flexibility is important. We are also looking at bringing in a wide player who is a ball carrier. We lost Jonny Hayes and Niall McGinn, so I am looking for the type of player who can get us up the pitch quickly. I also want to get another central defender in. Aberdeen have also been linked with Icelandic defender Kari Arnason who played at Pittodrie for a season in 2011-12, he is currently with AC Omonia in Cyprus. Arnason has admitted to the Evening Express that he would be keen on a return to Aberdeen. The Dons have refused to rule out that possibility. One deal that McInnes insists is still on is the bid to sign Maloney, the Reds No1 summer signing target. Maloney agreed to join the Dons having rejected a one-year contract extension with Hull City, relegated to the Championship. The deal has been put on ice as the club and Maloney further investigates an injury concern flagged up by the Aberdeen-raised attacker. McInnes said: It says a lot about Shaun. He deserves a lot of credit as he had that little concern and was very honest about it. We never gave him a medical, so he never failed one but we had a discussion with the medical team and there is still a willingness to do a deal. We are hopeful that we can get Shaun with us but what is clear is that he is not going to be fit for the next few weeks or so. Well dig a bit deeper to get more reassurances for us and for Shaun himself. Shaun got a little operation towards the end of last season for a general problem. A lot of players would just get in the door and hope everything goes alright but Shaun is not like that. I am just keen to get him on the pitch for Aberdeen. Unfortunately for us he is not going to be fit for the next few weeks so the priority for me has to be to get players who can help us now.
  17. How did you see the second half if you left after the 1st goal?
  18. Watched the highlights there - always hard to get a proper feel of the game - but seemed to create quite a few chances that should have been put away. Couple of deflected goals but the build up to both was less than pleasing from our perspective. Any reviews from folk that made the trip?
  19. Finish 2nd. Not a good season. Ok cool.
  20. If Don't seem to be It seems ...could all be very different come August. Plenty time yet for more signings and players to gel.
  21. Ooft. My bet is pumped.
  22. Hopefully that is the reason and it gives more players more time on the pitch nearer to 90 mins.
  23. Motherwell starting XI: Griffiths, Tait, Hammell, Heneghan, Bigirimana, McHugh, Bowman, Fisher, Dunne, Kipré, Tanner How do we line up I wonder? Perhaps Dunne and Tait wingback with Tanner in behind Fisher and Bowman?
  24. Even if Aberdeen do match our valuation, which i don't think they will, I'd think Moult will have his eyes set on a bigger move than to Aberdeen. That's not with claret and amber specs on. I reckon he is a bit more ambitious than that and will have plenty of suitors down south come the end of the window, or indeed end of the season.
