Some interesting comments on Reynolds. Sounds like hearsay to me but I suppose ye never know as rumour/heard from a mate a week ago was that he was signing for us... As some others have said he was reportedly a Well fan when growing up and when he was at Sheffield Wednesday was definitely in and about the club at times. McCall mentioned it in an article before the Aberdeen end of season game and I for one saw him in the main stand watching a game also. He's a decent pro so I'd be surprised if a few boos and abuse from fans made him go in a huff. However, he probably knows the wages folk are on at Motherwell and that's why he wouldnt move!

McGhee is on record saying he does not think Laing will be here. That's him being kind.

Scottish Cup - Fourth Round Rangers V Motherwell Sat 21 Jan 12:30

Train to the SECC and a jaunt over. Same the way back. Never had any bother and quicker than the underground and the hassle with that. -
Deal to the end of the season confirmed. Fine with that. We get a further look at him and not tied in long term if he does continue to pick up wee knocks, not kick on once match fit.

Livi game aside (whether it was left back or left mid) his next start was against Aberdeen in the Aug 06/07 season and he played at centre back alongside Quinn (RB), Craigan (CB) and Paterson (LB). That continued for the majoirty of the season barring injuries and a couple of changes. The Raith game mentioned he was left back with Kinniburgh, Mensing and McLean making up the rest of the defence. At this stage in his career and his attributes, for me, he would be signing (for anyone) as a centre back who can cover left back. Not the other way around.

I've always liked him. He has his negatives sure but I would also welcome him back. Can't see it though.

That's more how I saw it too.

Going back to Humphrey. Been reading some reports online and in the papers from the Hibs v Dundee Utd game. Quite a few soundbites about Humphrey being 'outstanding' and a 'different class' Just shows you the difference in opinions. I was always a Humphrey fan when he was with us and I thought he did well enough and was busy. But, wouldnt have described him as outstanding. Looked very much like the Humphrey we knew - good bit of pace about him, but still very hot and cold with end product. Maybe a winger of his sort is something Hibs have been looking for more than anything.

Chris Porter scores for Colchester.

Great to see a start. Hopefully performs.

He's absolutely murder. Only place he should be is in a rugby strip. In my opinion of course ;-)

I think the only one of them who may go this window will be Moult. Even then, I dont think we will get a bid we will accept given current league position.
-
I think everyone agrees. But the more stories about our players going to the Premiership, or Championship for that matter, in the national press the better! Nobody down south bats an eyelid at Scottish football other than Rangers and Celtic. So, if our players are linked in the national press it can only be a good thing to boost interest and, hopefully, fees.

Anything is possible in a world where Grant Hanley is sold for 6 million. Anything. Off topic a bit...but I still can't believe that.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/576159/Crystal-Palace-transfer-news-Sam-Allardyce-planning-Louis-Moult-swoop Re-hash of the same story so no more true. But the more attention and headlines Moult gets the better in regards looking tho sell him.
-
Can't really count the first one - he sclaffed a shot off target and it landed at Cummings feet. He's been involved. Looks very much like the Humphrey we know and love from his time at us.
-
He's scored the same amount of league goals as Dembele. 5 mill. No less.
-
I don't think many do. But it's very possible the other clubs in the article could make bids.
-
For what it's worth...I am pretty surprised/suspicious about the Palace link too. But you never know for sure I guess. The other club's mentioned in the article (Cardiff, Derby, Rotherham and Burton) seem more likely.

Moulty rumour to Crystal Palace for 500k. Stick or twist? : http://talksport.com/football/crystal-palace-fc-transfer-news-sam-allardyce-make-motherwell-striker-louis-moult-his-first

Sorry to all the Lucas haters but looks likely to stay: http://www.motherwelltimes.co.uk/sport/football/motherwell-fc/mcghee-i-hope-to-deal-in-lee-lucas-1-4332417 Personally I am not 100% convinced yet. But he has superb ability and skill in there which has shown in flashes in his 4 starts. So I would be willing to give him a chance to get up to speed with the Scottish game, see if he can remain injury free and give him the chance to show it properly. He could turn out an absolute beaut of a player...or a nearly man like Vigurs and Kerr etc. Impossible to tell in his limited starts so I think it's worth a shot.

Great interview and argument. Pleased he also mentions that even if we did get in to 'the 8' it's not fair on others. That's a very key point in the discussion.
-
Hopefully. If he did sign an extension...imagine the man love. I would name my first born Moult.

Pretty definitive on Laing: http://www.motherwelltimes.co.uk/sport/football/motherwell-fc/mcghee-i-don-t-expect-louis-laing-to-return-1-4331993

I would usually agree. But the main difference is that when we sold Johnson he had a transfer request in and also we 'needed' the money. With the recent renegotiated deal we don't 'need' to sell a player a year to stay on course. Obviously we still want to to enable payment of the loans. But we are in a stronger position unless Moult throws the toys oot the pram.
