  1. Yep, I was about to type the same thing. Evidenced the other way when Craig Moore got released by Hearts when young un and we picked him up.
  2. 6 sub appearances so probably not a lot!
  3. Hopefully future loanees will be pointed to this article...some positive words for the 'Well http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/competitions/premiership/18-scottish-football-loan-players-who-went-on-to-bigger-things-1-4005242?
  4. I am 99% sure he didn't change as his ego wouldn't let him. That or he is blind to the fact somehow it completely unsettled the team. Said to my Dad at half time he would change it and was proven right. I am a McGhee fan by the way but yesterday was a selection shambles made even worse by the individual performances of the players who couldn't get settled.
  5. Clancy let Hearts away with a lot of niggly fouls while picking up very soft ones for us I thought. Set the tone for the game.
  6. McGhee takes a huge amount of blame for that but not all obviously. Why change 2 positions when you can change 4 and play folk where they don't usually play?! Team choice was bizarre and didn't surprise me at all we lost early goals. The team looked like they hadn't played together before. Law/Pearson didn't work, Hammell/Ainsowrth didn't work, Chalmers/Johnson didn't work. Add in the fact we had very poor individual performances and I am surprised we didn't lose more!
  7. Going through to this so hopefully a good game and also a change to the team of the last several weeks which, if anything, will be an interest...and hopefully successful! Think it will be tight and would take a draw right now I reckon. For me: Ripely Law Hall McManus Hammell Ainsworth Pearson Laing Johnson Skippy Moult Went for Laing over Cadden as we need a more defensive minded player in if playing 2 wingers.

    Mark McGhee

Didn't say anything really out of place in my opinion. His ambition to do well can only be good for us as he has to get us playing well and doing well to get where he wants to be. It's up to the club to be ready for the day he moves on...which he will.
  9. If someone drops their pie on me then I am on it. Yer no gettin it back.
  10. I am not writing him off but given he has had only a few unused sub appearances under McGhee , and none recently, I would say he has probably lost ground to the likes of Cadden and even Laing in the middle of the park. Up to him to really step up in the U20s and take his chance if gets one in the first team before end of season.
  11. I wouldnt be changing the while system or formation for 1 match. So I would go: Ripley Law Hall McManus Hammell Ainsworth Cadden Pearson Johnson Moult McDonald Pearson to do the Lasley role of breaking up play and Cadden to do the Pearson role of attacking more and late runs in to boxthat makes sense? Cadden is more that type of player. Ainsworth leaves us more open on the right than having Grimshaw but gives Hearts something to think about with 2 out and out wingers. EDIT: The other option is Cadden on the right and Laing in the middle. That's what they played in the U20s last night I think.
  12. Gutted about that one to be honest. I was hopeful that with 6 months to go they would let him see it out with us. I reckon it will be a sale, they wouldnt loan out surely unless they were renewing him? Didn't think we could probably afford him long term though. As others have said, came on to great game the past couple of months and was looking a solid right hand side combining with Law. Whoever replaces him will have to be a hell of a worker to cover the grass like he did! Now is the time for someone to step up on Saturday.
  13. It's kind of similar to gigs I have been to be before in a few places when I have stood at a balcony with a pint. Been told I can stand there but just not lean over while holding the pint or put the pint on the balcony in case it falls over.
  14. Not sure I read it as the supporters back in this thread who demanded the blanket response? Rather they complained about their own situation and maybe some others did and the club responded by implementing what they saw the best way to deal with it?
  15. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/spfl/14197334.Manchester_United_starlet__hopeful__Motherwell_deal_can_be_struck/? Grimshaw loan is up on the 17th (day after Hearts)
  16. This is turning into another standing v not standing argument when it does not have to really. Basically...don't hang over a barrier, drunk or not, with food and drink if there are people below you on the other side in seats. At the very least it is only fucking polite.
  17. I wouldn't say it's a very tough tie. We are a better team than we were when we played them and more settled. It will be a tricky and competitive. But winnable.
  18. Sound like folk werent standing behind the yellow line.
  19. I think I would be happy going in to the second half of the season with same squad to be honest. Other than maybe getting 1 of Clarkson/Fletcher/Robinson off the books on loan or permanently I think we have the right mix of cover and cover through young players. I would prefer to see Cadden for example be the midfield cover than get another loan or short term deal in to sit on the bench.
  20. Law and Grimshaw have a very good thing going on down the right at the moment. Long may it continue.
  21. Disagree he was poor. But it does become a different game tactically when you have Thomas and Faddy on. Became much more about quick touch and move rather than feed it out wide, run and cross.
