  1. Unfortunately the referees are bound by the regulations and they have to give a red card if they're giving a foul against the last man and I don't think common sense is allowed to come in to it. There's something wrong with the rules when you can be sent off for something that is completely unintentional.
  2. I didn't realise tomorrow is the deadline day - assumed it was yesterday as the end of the month. We've had a few deals in the past which have been after the deadline day so it's not the end of the world if deals aren't concluded tomorrow.
  3. I thought we were very unlucky to lose at home to them but they seemed to have kicked on from there whereas that was probably one of our better games. Hopefully we can push on from an improved performance last week where we at least seemed to be offering a threat.
  4. From the highlights, it was good to see Pearson heavily involved and the thing that really jumped out at me was that when Ainsworth crossed, we had five players in their box.
  5. He's already been booked for a blatant dive this season and has gone down rather easily a few times in or around the box, often when the ball is still there to play for. Hes showing a lot of promise but needs to improve on that side of things.
  6. Were there any positives to take from the game? How did Pearson play? Or Thomas?
  7. I'm sure Accies had him on loan and then bought him (about £200k) as they thought he was good enough to sell on. Very unusual for Accies to buy anyone and the gamble backfired as he saw out the end of his contract while out with a long term injury. If he's back to the player he was pre-injury then it would be a promising signing.
  8. So when he runs out on Wednesday, is he going to give a big wave to the Celtic support if they give him a warm welcome? I can just imagine the meltdown on here. I'm quite happy with the signing - I assume he's bulked up a bit during his time in England and hopefully he's still got a bit of pace and our midfield badly needs a bit of both.
  9. I have no idea if his loan deal will be extended beyond the end of the month but would hope some wages would be freed up if he leaves. If he's no longer eligible to play again this month and is returning to Poland I expect we would hear sooner rather than later.
  10. This might mean we've seen the last of Ojamma if he got a three game ban.
  11. If Ojamma is with us until the end of January and gets a 3 match ban (I thought violent conduct was 2 games) I think he would still be able to play against St. Johnstone on the 31st.
  12. I've liked what I've heard so far from Baraclough but I was a bit disappointed in his comments yesterday regarding losing in an acceptable way. Other than the spell after Thomas came on we offered very little and could have very easily been on the end of a heavy defeat. We had very little possession and seemed unable to string passes together. Perhaps he's looking at things as a newcomer and seeing us playing the team at the top of the league with a much bigger budget and it's me that needs to adjust expectations but I'm used to used to us being on a par or better than Aberdeen and the likes. At the very least I'm looking for us to make some meaningful chances before considering a performance as being acceptable even if we lose. Anyway, I didn't expect anything from yesterday and know it will take a while to get the passing pressing game together, or at least some players in or more available for selection. Happy to give him a chance but we obviously have different views on what is considered acceptable.
  13. I've not been to a New Year game in a few years, whether it's been Accies or anyone else, as I'm generally away but I don't think we've come close to filling that stand for any league game. We'll have more than 400 but I'd be amazed if we fill it.
  14. We were trying to pass the ball about at the back which is great if you have players who can do it. Too many times our defenders took a bad touch then their second was to control the ball and the third to pass it. It was all too slow and allowed their players to close us down and cut off the options. It wasn't just the defenders, Lasley was also particularly guilty of it. If that's the style he wants it's going to have to do a lot of work on the training ground. Gannon tried a similar style when he came in and teams got wise to it pretty quickly and really pressed us high up the park.
  15. I heard his interview with BBC Scotland on the way to Saturday's game and he came across very well. Worth listening to if it's on their website - even if it is just for the bit about Flow being flown out to Barbados today.
  16. Well done guys. I got a few things when I was in the supermarket tonight and I'll drop them off tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be one of many. Will you have anybody out at the pavement that can maybe quickly grab a few bags rather than lugging them from wherever I manage to park? Just being lazy ;-)
  17. McCoist/McCall swap? Only joking but I can see McCall going there. Maybe he would take Black. Of course this all depends on McCoist agreeing a settlement otherwise he's just given 12 months notice.
  18. The guy with African connections was mentioned way back but I thought that was unlikely as he was still in a job. As uninspiring a candidate as Stark or Danny Lennon.
  19. Clydebank away in the League Cup - Stevie Woods came on as a sub and played o the wing! It was extremely tedious and went to extra time penalties after a nil nil draw (I think we won on penalties). It was roasting and I had a rare taps aff moment on the terracing at Kilbowie which I still get slagged for.
  20. Perhaps confidential negotiations need to progress to the point where a matter can be put to the Society?
  21. We've been losing money consistently the last few seasons - we must owe it to someone. Obviously I hope it's rubbish but our finances aren't great. We had a few seasons of balancing the books but we've let that slip. We need to get to the end of the season and cut our cloth accordingly.
  22. With the board using the international break to work on the appointment I was hoping there would be an announcement today or tomorrow to allow some preparation for the weekend but it's gone very quiet. Either they're managing to keep things under wraps as usual or there may be some basis to the rumours of ownership issues? Or I could be reading too far into things because nothing seems to be happening.
  23. Job security isn't probably as much of an issue as in a normal job if they give you a 2 or 3 year contract.
  24. When Calderwood was mentioned I originally thought which one. If folk have the fear about Jimmy then I dread to think of the reaction to Colin being mooted.
