With the last few appointments, was the announcement the first we knew about it?
-
Hasn't worked out too badly for us though, has it?

As much as we're in need of investment or some financial backing to give stability, the thought of being run as a foreign talent showcase gives me the fear. Having gone through administration I felt some sympathy for Dundee when they went into administration but less so the second time when there was a feeling they hadn't learned their lesson. Some other clubs have also been run in a way that fans of other clubs could see was only going to lead them to financial issues. I just hope we can learn from past mistakes and not be swayed by the lure of temporary cash that will just end up as our debt.

I know the way he left still leaves a bad taste in the mouth but that's a very honest interview from McGhee with a lot of nice things to say about us. Makes you wonder about him seeing Boyle last week though.

I think there were rumours about Lomas kicking around of events which contributed more to Lomas leaving St. Johnstone than football matters.
-
Bobby Williamson has only just taken charge of Kenya so I'm pleased to say it looks as though he's not in the running.
-
I would have been quite keen on Iain Murray from Dumbarton but assume he would be ruled out if we need to pay compensation. Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being Pressley or David Weir - think we'll be looking at cheap options who think they can work with the squad as we can't afford wholesale changes.

Sorry - talking rubbish. Hadn't read earlier posts on page.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to hospitality for the 5-1 game and surprisingly they've asked me again (he obviously doesn't know many Motherwell supporters). Good thing is I don't have to pay, bad thing is I'm in the Thistle stand. Two poor teams but I've got a sneaky feeling this is the game when Ojamma will make his mark. Any word if Higginbotham is fit?

Out of interest, what is the most we've beaten them by in recent years? I'll leave it up to the individual as to what you take as recent. I can remember some 2 nils, a 3-1 and even a famous 4-2 but nothing more than a two goal margin.

I can remember a 7 - 0 at Fir Park when Nicholas and McClair ran riot. Eight would be a record equalling defeat but wouldn't rule it out - more likely to be 3 or 4. Any trip in recent years has been more in hope than in expectation and I've been lucky enough to see us pull it off on a few occasions (Twaddle and Lappin). You never know!

Although anything at all might be more than we can afford.

Obviously it was disappointing to lose but there were signs of improvement on the previous home games. We were more solid and I though Lawson did a good job of trying to cover in front of the defence and that seemed to help the number of long range shots coming in. Angol played well at left back and there were few crosses from either side while he was on. I wasn't aware he was injured and thought it strange at the time. The organisation seemed to go at the back as Craig was then outnumbered several times and the crosses were coming in, including the one for the goal. There was s definite improvement in terms of trying to play as a unit compared to the first few games when we played with all the players in complete isolation - at least we had players attempting to link up and I thought Ojamma did well at this until he ran out of steam. However he ran out of steam long before he was subbed although I agree Law had to go off as well as he was completely ineffectual - I'm afraid I'm not convinced he has it or at least has been thrown into the first team too early. Anyway, hopefully the break will let us re-group as we'll need to start getting on the board or we'll be under real pressure. I though we were unlucky to lose but we need to get back to some reasonable form or being able to grind out results when we're off it.

I'm not a fan of Kerr but thought that was the best performanceiI've seen from him.

Was Howie in goals that day? I seem to remember he got put on the right wing out of harm's way. Unfortunately Wood's howlers stand out in the memory but he played a lot of games so by the law of averages he would have made some. Old highlights show however that he also had a lot of good games and was better than a lot give him credit for. Many just could not take to him or forgive him for the rangers cup mistake.
-
I'd still rate him above Neilsen and think it's only down to the contract situation that we have one and not the other.
-
Someone else mentioned Burley and Wishart also - both were before McClair's lacklustre return.
-
So, 2 players in on loan. A defender and more creative forward as outlined by McCall. Do we reckon that's it and this is our squad until New Year? Is this all we can afford?
-
The clip posted on the MFC Facebook page which has been put together by his agent is fantastic.
-
Good luck to him. Good opportunity but he has to take the chance while he can before their injuries clear up.
-
That's strange - I thought he did get a ban after it despite tv evidence supposedly not being admissible. I'm pretty sure the Hibs team took it in turns (and bookings) to kick him with it finally being Willie Miller who forced him off.
-
It was a bit unfair though. Going by the picture with the report on our official website, Accies had a giant playing for them.

Thanks. It seems crazy that we have to adhere to higher standards than Spain.

I thought development fees were payable to all, including amateur and boys clubs. Is that not the case?

I still find the tractor seat issue a strange one as that's what was provided at Levante.
