  1. I don't know what's going on with Gallagher , but talking about scans... Gareth Bale didn't feature in Spurs squad the other night. He, or someone representing him, posted on Twitter about having a good training session that day, so the media started asking questions. Mourinho said Bale had been for a scan, which came back clear. Despite that, and the advice of physios etc, Mourinho said he can't play a guy who feels/says he's injured. If Burrows doesn't want to talk about the trigger and the papers didn't just invent it, where do we imagine it came from? And why would it be disclosed for absolutely no reason?
  2. No better than what's already there. Got skinned for the 4th goal. Was he no meant to be the speed merchant, cos he turned like the Titanic. Mibbe we were still deliberately allowing the cross to come in though. Can anyone honestly look at those signings and offer a reasonable explanation? This season, of all seasons, if you're no getting a game for the first team you're not playing, period. So these guys were not match fit, obviously prone to picking up injuries, niggling or otherwise, and therefore unavailable for selection. That's leaving aside what ability they have/had/ever will have. Lawless might not have pleased everyone, though you could see the point, but the rest?
  3. He's also gonnae have to re-evaluate his tactics, which I assume he was alluding to in the post match interview on telly. If he was previously unaware, today he found out what most of us have known all season - that defence can't be put under pressure for too long before the cracks start showing. O'Donnell's out next week, Mugabi must be doubtful, Gallagher unlikely. Magloire aside, who else comes in? Midfield wise, the question being asked is who comes in for who, but I don't see how we can continue with just the 3 guys. Every manager in the league must already have worked out how easily they can get at us if we stick to that system. The front guys are working hard and are undoubtedly the best area of the team, but we still don't look like we're going to give anyone a hammering. And god help us if Tony Watt succumbs to the kickings he gets every week. We should manage to scrape to safety eventually, but today showed a lot of that team will never do in the long term. Alexander's got a huge task keeping us up now, then another one rebuilding in the summer. I hope to christ he had hee haw to do with the January signings.
  4. Jesus, imagine having that lot as your options.
  5. Where would we be without each other? We're the main source of points that keep them up and they're a buffer that ensures we don't get relegated.
  6. I'd bite your hand off for that. The worry is, we won our 4 games under Robinson pretty much on the bounce, then done nothing for how long? Hopefully Alexander makes the difference now, but watching that today brings home how easily that same group of players could go on a run of shit form again, which might well be fatal at this stage. They've got the chance next week to prove that won't happen. Disnae excuse today though.
  7. January's just increased the number of players who are either no better than what we had or unavailable for selection, so we're relying on a team who've just reminded us how we got here in the first place. And reliable is not an adjective you'd use to describe this lot. (Here) we go again.
  8. Beat from the word ready, never mind go. 4-3-3's got to be on a shaky peg now.
  9. Gonnae be a long slog to the end of the season. At their best, this team will grind out enough results to keep us up. At their worst, they've still got it in them to take us down.
  10. Yup, but it's kinda symptomatic of a problem that might bite us on the arse yet. How many of the new guys would you fancy sticking in the starting 11 at a time when it needs a shake up? No exactly got many to pick from anyway, given the number who are either injured or no fit enough to play.
  11. I agreed with a guy saying this after the Killie game and was told, shut up, it's working. Getting away with it doesn't mean it's working. That defence was never gonnae be good enough to stand up to repeated pressure.
  12. Yeah, had to be one of them, but I'd probably have taken Cole off. You can appreciate why Long would feel aggrieved, he'll just need to get on with it though.
  13. And that'll be the toys oot the pram again.
  14. Any questions regarding the long term viability of this team have been answered.
  15. Never mind mumping, Alexander, get our shape sorted.
  16. Lasley's gonnae have bragging rights tonight.
  17. This inviting teams onto us and winning everything in our box is working a treat so far.
  18. I cannae even reach mine, ya big show off.
  19. A few weeks ago I'd have asked, at what end? But now the question is, what time did you start?
  20. Feck it, 4 nothing to us. Watt gets a hat-trick.
  21. Think that was a few years later. Their owner gave him a glowing reference: “He is an out-of-control womaniser, an Irishman without rules. He is someone who disappears for a week and goes on the hunt for women in Milan. “He has two families with six children, he never trains, he’s completely off the rails. On the field he’s a great player, because he gave us everything he had and more. “In terms of his behaviour, however, he is uncontrollable. My coach told me he cannot sort this player out, so he has to go.” Sounds like Lafferty was lucky to dodge a bullet.
  22. Reached double figures for Burnley, Rangers, Hearts and Palermo, despite Soccerbase showing he never played a game for them, which takes some doing. Add in 20 international goals anaw. Strikes me as a player who'll do the business, if he can be arsed - we'll see how that goes with Killie. But I don't see any of our January signings scoring more than he will.
  23. There's always a chance it could've turned round, but there's little evidence it actually would have. The players looked down and out, he admits he was done and the new signings clearly wouldn't have changed things for the better. Best thing for everyone. We stay up and get to look back at his time fondly when the shit hits the fan.
