You’d think from some comments that every player at Motherwell is Scottish. My earlier point was aimed at what I see as managerial bollocks, not at the fact a player has moved from one country to another. If he'd played any games this season before we sold him he'd be getting played sooner. It's not exactly UEFA Pro License science to think that he needs a few weeks to integrate and get match fit. That’s UEFA Pro Licence science for you.

Willing to bet thats the most minutes any 19 year old Scot has had in Serie A. Having watched their game against Inter, they have some seriously good midfielders. Its not Harry Paton keeping him out the team.....

Apparently he has signed with Forge FC, a Canadian Premier League team that play their games in Hamilton (Ontario).

Giving them a 10 minute workout in a game with no pressure is pretty standard. Otherwise you end up with fans posting on websites calling them dug shite because they hadn't got up to speed instantly with their new team mates the first 60 minutes they played.

I understand the idea of easing youngsters in but let’s not pretend this is the same situation. Miller has already racked up plenty of first team games for his age. A token 10 minutes at 3–0 down does nothing for his development and only wastes the opportunity to actually test him properly.
Jonesy Posted yesterday at 08:29 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:29 AM Lewis Ferguson barely got a start in his first 3 or 4 months at Bologna to let him settle in before he found himself as a mainstay and captain of the team. Chucking Miller in the deep end when he hasn't played any football since we played Carlisle almost 3 months ago ( 1 minute for Scotland aside) does nothing to help his development either. wellfan Posted yesterday at 08:35 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:35 AM I don’t get why fans either refuse to throw a player in at the deep end or only wish to give them a token 10 minutes in a meaningless game. Football fans are fickle. There is a middle ground, and new players should get meaningful game time to settle in.
Stuwell2
I don’t give a feck if LM’s new manager and club throw him in the deep end or easing him in gently cause he’s now an ex player and I believe that he’ll take whatever happens in his stride and that in the next few years he’ll be playing in a top European league with a top team. numpty
From The Scotsman: Quote Miller, however, ensured he made an impression in his 13 minutes on the park (nine minutes plus added time) with two attempts on goal. His 88th minute header from a Thomas Kristensen cross was saved by Milan goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano while the Scot also sent a right-footed shot over the bar from outside the box in the fourth minute of added time. Miller will now hope for another opportunity when Udinese host Palermo in the second round of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday night. You can see the latter effort at 6:45 here. Without knowing anything about Udinese or their manager, I'll assume that they have their own way of playing and that they have a specific role in mind for Miller, which may be different to what he is used to, so he'll need time to learn that. He'll also need to learn how to communicate effectively, so hopefully he's getting paid enough to afford a private Italian tutor for a couple of hours a day. He was also injured and needs to get his match fitness back, so there are a variety of factors that may be limiting his game-time.

All they get to do is offer opinions. The rest of your view makes sense, but I still stand by my view on managerial bollocks.
