Happy to see his continued success, and yet another example we can't point to in our recruitment process. That’s a very fair point @weeyin and perhaps a high bar for any loanees - ie players we can’t afford but how need a platform . anyways great to see him kicking on. joewarkfanclub
Thought Welsh played well yesterday. Well, second half at least. Most of the team were honking first half. The second half had a fair whiff of nostalgia about it. The utter domination of the ball and the opposition was like watching a Jens team. The failure to convert so many good chances only added to the allure!

First half was always going to be difficult with a new team, formation etc. Fact no Hanley, ralston, dykes, hirst already felt like a positive. He's tartan army hero but mcginn not having same impact these days

The manager must have seen Welsh’s ability yet he plays Henry and McKenna (whom Welsh had to baby-sit in Slovenia already). Let’s hope Pocoglioni learns quickly where the duds are. wellfan
Let’s hope Miller gets a start against North Macedonia. Ferguson has done absolutely nothing in these past two games to justify retaining his spot. In fact, he was absolutely dugmeat against Switzerland. Thought it was a stupid and lazy challenge, even if he had tried to make it look like a genuine challenge for the ball, he might have got away with a yellow or just let attacker shoot...sold the jerseys in first 10 mins. For an allegedly experienced international defender to make that challenge is inexcusable. I know Robertson was doing his bit as captain trying to explain that it's a defender's mindset to never let anyone past them, but that just made it worse for me. As I've said a few times, I remember Fergie always saying that he drilled his defenders to never commit fouls like that. His approach was that the striker still had to find the target and beat the keeper - and if they did score, he'd want 11 players on the pitch to respond. That's the mindset you should have as a top defender, especially that early in the game. Hope Miller gets a run out soon or he might start looking for an Irish granny. Never heard AR but it wasn't a split second thing , he had time to decide and back off , Scotland dont help themselves with the self sabotage. Apparently Robertson said '...as a defender, it is almost instinctive not to simply allow a striker to shoot, with “every fibre” telling you to do something to stop him' When you're a professional player I'd expect your instinct not to get sent off for a DOGSO should be well developed. wellsince75
Must say I’m missing the SPL - to have almost 3 weeks off for this utter tosh is not enjoyable . feels like we crammed in a stupid amount of games , didn’t get a full pre season and then put the breaks on for weeks for a glorified set of friendlies
Motherwell Daft
Yet again Lennon passed over for a cap in a completely rank average Scotland squad against 3rd rate opposition, he really should question his attendance in these squads n just focus on his club future.

What a load of utter bollocks. You either want to play for Scotland or you dont. Lennon clearly does. So he will keep attending until he gets his chance.
wellfan
It’s far too early to start judging or criticising Pocognoli, but if Miller continues to get no minutes in favour of Backpass Barry Jnr, then I think both we and Miller would be right to start questioning his involvement.

Again like all posts on here it’s personal opinion and you are 100% right to say your thoughts, mine isn’t utter bollocks, just my opinion, the boys future career ain’t going to be defined by Scotland, it’ll be defined by his play with whatever club side he is with, personally talking he should just concentrate on playing every week in Italy and see where that takes him.
MJC
His career 100% should be defined by his play with whatever club side he plays with, as should be and dare I say IS the case with every footballer. International football is a farce and it’s on the decline due to governing bodies throwing ridiculous money about to host tournaments. Then you consider the ridiculous grandparent rule which allows players to pick and choose their nationality based on which one is more likely to get them capped. Angus Gunn being case in point there, he realised he wasn’t going to get picked for England so ‘decided to be Scottish’. I get that it’s an honour for players to represent their country, but club football is far more important and Lennon Miller will have a good career providing he stays injury free and keeps doing the business at club level. Club v country bollocks If players (including Miller) didn't fancy playing for their country it would be a very simple process to ensure it didn't happen. As a percentage, very few players decline call-ups, and there is a reason for that
