Happy that we seem to be signing a number of players with a decent number of first team games at a decent level behind them (Sule the exception, but there you're looking at a promising youth record). Obviously every signing is a gamble irrespective of their previous history (look at Casper Sloth's pre Motherwell track record and tell me you thought he'd be a bad signing) but we seem to be trying to minimise the risk in our signing policy this summer...

As an aside, I see calls for us to sign a centre half dominant in the air. If we need one of them, what exactly is Liam Gordon's role..?

I still think we need a right back. Even if your a fan of his we need an SOD replacement in the door how much longers SOD got and I already feel he's targeted by opposition as is. I know we have koutrumbis

Johnny K is fine at right back apart from his red card was probably one of our better performers towards end of the season.

This is turning out to be a very decent transfer window well for me every signing so far has me intrigued.

we still need 3/4 imo

- LW, CB, CM and a Target-man type ST

Is Just not a left winger? I agree with a centre back (although I wouldn't moving a defender on first, avoid the bloated squad of last season) and another striker. A midfielder if Miller leaves. If we could get said defender out the door, would I then maybe consider looking for a right back as well...

Just I believe is a RW either way we need another winger, you need 4 if you're playing a 433 we currently have Maswanhise, Just and Nicholson (Who's injury prone) and if you want to add Ross you can but not convinced he's ready i'd loan him out, we need a Cb who's semi decent on the ball, we need a Cm regardless of Miller leaving and an probably a 2nd when he does and St. I mean I'm not the biggest fan of SOD or Johnny K tbh but we already have they 2 plus Mcginn to play there so doubt we'll add a RB.

I’ll be content if we don’t sign the extra 2–4 players some are now calling for. The same people complaining about a bloated squad in past seasons are now demanding three players per position.

We have two fit strikers, one of whom is just returning from injury and the other has barely played a first team game. I think another striker doesn't make a bloated squad.

Ideally I'd move Balmer and O'Donnell on and bring in a centre half and a right back. It's not numbers I'm looking ing for, it's quality..

Think that's fair enough but I also think we'll see another one or two signings before the end of the window

My opinion leaves scope for another striker, which I agree we need.

Balmer and SOD are going nowhere, unfortunately.

As far as defenders go, we now have 8 on the books, Of those 4 are out and out full/wing backs. Of the remaining 4, 2 (McGinn and McGhee)  can play in central defence as part of back 3.  If we go to 2 at the back then that leaves us with only 2 out and out central defenders, Balmer and Gordon.  A tad tight methinks. Is Balmer a first choice pick?
