mfc
A Motherwell player going straight to seria a is something the club should be extremely proud about, best of luck to lennon for having the ambition and the balls to make such a move.
mio
Good luck to the lad, I hope he goes over there and becomes a star. It’ll be a tough one for him to start with no doubt but I think he’ll get there, he has a good work ethic and seems a grounded lad. it’s great to see us sell a player to Seria A, it raises the club’s profile there and also here for any young players looking to be associated to a club that promotes giving youth a chance. £4.5m - take a bow young man
johnstone
Absolutely chuffed for Miller. My son spent a bit of time at Motherwell Academy and before his training would start the under 16s would be finishing up and I remember Miller and also Rice being total stand outs. Then his younger brother was in the same team as my boy and he was always watching from the sidelines with his dad. He even turned up to prize giving for the young lads. Not Suprised one bit that he has made this move, his performances over the last season and a bit have been phenomenal, a true talent and it’s also no shock he has pretty much confirmed his place in the national side. It’s also fabulous for the club and shows that their youth system works and has for last wee while been outstandingly successful.
wellfan
Absolutely delighted for Miller and the club. A superstar in the making.
wellon
Great to see everyone rooting for the lad and wishing him well...maybe Jake Hastie should take note, you can leave a club and make good money and still be wished we'll. See he was on the bench for ayr on Saturday, still he might have a few bob in his pocket. Lennon seems a grounded modest lad.

Hopefully the Miller announcement lands soon and spares this thread and the rest from any more pointless pish. Apologies as I am the main culprit. Anyway I wish Lennon all the best and the way he has conducted himself has been admirable but a big thank you to his Dad also who has obviously be thinking of his career rather than the big bucks. Welcome back anytime Lennon

weeyin
Great player, great attitude and, equally important, had some great career advice from his dad.
grizzlyg
Apparently he has contacted Alexander Isak to give him tips on how to leave a club with a bit of class! 😁

He is good and I’m pretty sure he is still at the club. Not 100% as I’ve not really kept up to speed with what’s going on. So maybe we have a Miller 2.0 😂😂

Ross McCrorie. But I'm pretty sure Lennon will settle soon enough. Udinese have also signed other players for larger fees in the past few weeks so that might also ease any fan expectations. star sail
Congratulations Lennon Miller. It must take no small amount of courage to go to a European country without being able to speak the language at the tender age of 18. It would have been easy to settle for a British club with the comforts of home. For his bravery alone, I hope he is hugely successful and we can all be proud to say that he started at our wee club.
Kmcalpin
Well done to young Lennon and I really hope he does well in Italy. Certainly the world is at his feet. He certainly left with a great deal of class. A real role model for young players and it also speaks volumes for our Academy. Sometimes it pays a promising youngster to stay with us for an extra year or perhaps two, before moving onto to bigger things. I've never been one to fawn over departed players but I'll be keeping an eye open for him.

weeyin
Five year contract I see. So if he does well, quite possible he'll move on for a fee - which is good for us.

Pretty sure Bruno Fernandez joined Udinese when he was 18 and has done alright with career moves. Seems like a decent squadra for Lennon to develop at without immediate pressure of some of the bigger Italian clubs.

How do you know he doesn't speak the language? If he is as well prepared and advised as I suspect he is, he has probably been learning Italian for at least 6 months. I hope that is the case to give him a baseline but he will need at least a year in an immersive experience to be fluent. The club will be well used to settling players from other countries though so I wouldn’t be too worried. it’s a great move for him. I can see him doing well if he can get through the first 6 months and is playing. Udinese have lost a few midfielders but they have a better squad just now than they did at the end of last season. I can see them having a more comfortable year which may work in Lennon favour. I will be in Milan at the time of the Inter Udine game so may try and go to see it.
