Anyway I wish Lennon all the best and the way he has conducted himself has been admirable but a big thank you to his Dad also who has obviously be thinking of his career rather than the big bucks. He is good and I’m pretty sure he is still at the club. Not 100% as I’ve not really kept up to speed with what’s going on. So maybe we have a Miller 2.0 😂😂

It’ll be a tough one for him to start with no doubt but I think he’ll get there, he has a good work ethic and seems a grounded lad. it’s great to see us sell a player to Seria A, it raises the club’s profile there and also here for any young players looking to be associated to a club that promotes giving youth a chance. £4.5m - take a bow young man What might help him settle is that Udinese are close to signing another Scot. Ross McCrorie. But I'm pretty sure Lennon will settle soon enough. Udinese have also signed other players for larger fees in the past few weeks so that might also ease any fan expectations. star sail
Congratulations Lennon Miller. It must take no small amount of courage to go to a European country without being able to speak the language at the tender age of 18. It would have been easy to settle for a British club with the comforts of home. For his bravery alone, I hope he is hugely successful and we can all be proud to say that he started at our wee club.
Kmcalpin
Well done to young Lennon and I really hope he does well in Italy. Certainly the world is at his feet. He certainly left with a great deal of class. A real role model for young players and it also speaks volumes for our Academy. Sometimes it pays a promising youngster to stay with us for an extra year or perhaps two, before moving onto to bigger things. I've never been one to fawn over departed players but I'll be keeping an eye open for him.

wellgirl
I've finally stopped crying - god help me when Slats leaves (kinda joking, wine will see me through) Maybe we could have a steelmenonline trip to Italy - could you imagine it 🤣
weeyin
Five year contract I see. So if he does well, quite possible he'll move on for a fee - which is good for us.

Seems like a decent squadra for Lennon to develop at without immediate pressure of some of the bigger Italian clubs.

How do you know he doesn't speak the language? If he is as well prepared and advised as I suspect he is, he has probably been learning Italian for at least 6 months. I hope that is the case to give him a baseline but he will need at least a year in an immersive experience to be fluent. The club will be well used to settling players from other countries though so I wouldn’t be too worried. it’s a great move for him. I can see him doing well if he can get through the first 6 months and is playing. Udinese have lost a few midfielders but they have a better squad just now than they did at the end of last season. I can see them having a more comfortable year which may work in Lennon favour. I will be in Milan at the time of the Inter Udine game so may try and go to see it. Kris-A-Goalda
The wellest wishes in the world to Lennon as he moves on - not just following in the footsteps of McTominay et al, but showing that Motherwell can be a key brick on the path for youngsters with ambition beyond the Old Firm. Just a shame both Udinese tops for this season are absolute humpty.

mio
I have to say, the way Lennon has left the club absolutely oozes class. He’s made a wee video message, put stuff out there on social media and I now see his family have added stuff to social media too thanking the club and fans etc for everything. When you see how some others have left, not so much us but other “provincial” teams, it’s a breath of fresh air. Should be held as an example to others how to leave a club….. the £4.75m does help as well right enough 🤣
robsterwood
I wish to thank Lennon Miller for being such a loyal servant and class act. He has been a total ambassador for Motherwell and as others have said he's an inspiration for others that Motherwell can be the place to make your mark as a player and go on to clubs bigger than the old firm, and in bigger leagues. Thanks. Hope to see you back some day.

weeyin
Biereth had 12 senior appearances (on loan) and 2 goals before he joined us, so sometimes it works out. I agree, however, we need someone (or someone else) with a bit more first team experience.

For me if think we someone with a bit more experience if the rumours are true. Certainly failed to score from a limited number of games on loan from Forest. ...only 400 minutes in total from what I can find. At first glance uninspiring. Prior to that he averaged almost a goal a game at youth level.... 75 appearances 35 goals plus 9 assists. Not as impressive stats as Biereth admittedly and his career does seems to have slowed down since he signed his first pro contract. That happens to many 17 year olds though and only an exceptional talent would walk straight in to any first team.. He must have something if Forest gave him a longer term contract at age 17. Maybe worth a look but probably not an immediate solution up front for us. Said the same about Biereth though, and he proved me wrong. Probably not costing that much in wages so that's a plus. If it happens that is.
