KVV and Higdon were top of goal scoring tables for us . When we sold them they both reverted to type pretty much immediately and never had seasons scoring like the ones they had with us.

TJ is scoring all right but look at they way the rest of the team are playing to allow him the opportunity to score the goals.

Is he really worth the millions being talked about after one really good season ?

John Sutton, another good example.  Scoring regular for us but went to Hearts and didnt cut it there. Came back to us and started scoring regularly again.
Definitely a lot depends on your team Mates and what style/tactics your team plays.
Perhaps a similar situation for Watt, absolute standout player in our team but would he excel if he moved to Rangers?
However, bottom line, individual will have much better take home pay after a transfer. Other consideration (or gamble) is wait longer to move amd make even more money after a transfer.

Yes. And it's up to the suitors to take that gamble. The great thing is, the club have no pressure to sell (at least this window). I'd expect him to move on in the summer however and I'd be hoping to recoup miller money or close to it.

If you had asked me a few months ago if he was worth it i would have said no. However, he's 23 & getting better & better. Potential suitors are speculating on a rising comodity. Unlike KVV or Higdon.

If someone wants to eclipse the Miller fee, then its all good news for us & the player.

Hearts completely wasted him by playing him as a lone striker with little or no midfield support. He was never the most mobile and was like a fish out of water at Tynecastle.

Every club is looking for a goalscorer, so any one that comes into that category and is still only 23 has got to be worth upwards of 10 million. Why should we always seem to sell ourselves short?

It might be heresy, but I'm still not convinced JT is that good.

He's obviously having a fantastic season with us (as is the entire squad), but he still seems quite raw and drifts out of games for long periods of time.

He could go on to much bigger and better things, or he could revert back to an 8 goals a season kind of player.

It's a gamble for any team signing him, but I'm more than happy to keep him as long as he wants to stay.

I feel the same he's a good player but there's parts to his game I look at and wonder how replicable his form will be. If we could get 5-6M for him I think that's probably his ceiling in terms of transfer value.

We are in a very fortunate position where we now have a number players who could easily go for fees in the not too distant future.

In years gone past we might have one or two who might go for a big fee, right now I could count 5 or 6 could go for a fee.

Maswanhise, Watt, Fadinger Just and Said.

I really hope we keep them for next season. What a great group of players as a team and individually.  Been a while since we have had so many talented players in the team at the same time. We had a few years there where we struggled to have even 1 player who could pass or control a ball amd now look at us !!!

I think realistically the squad we have now could fetch fees of around 10M combined with the 5M from Lennon that sets the club up for a very long time.

Maswanhise - 4-5M

Just - 2-3M

Watt - 2-3M

Longelo - 1-2M

Fadinger - 1-2 M

Said - 1M

To have 6 assets who could fetch those sorts of fees at one time is outstanding from the recruitment team. I'm resigned to losing Maswanhise in the summer but hopefully we can keep the rest for at least another season or 2.

Maswanhise as a striker will command bigger fee but for me Just is a class above.  If he performs well at World cup his value could increase big time

I agree Just is our best player and would be the most difficult to replace.

I feel as good as Maswanhise is we can get a similar sort of player to replace him (with a bit less effectivness).

Just however is so complete for our level said a few times if the boy could shoot he'd be playing in Europe's top 5 leagues.

What was the squad worth last season ? A tiny fraction of that

Its our manager that has turned it into a multi million pound squad if your valuations are correct or even in the ball park all credit goes to him , i would think. His leadership , man management and style are fantastic

But who was it that scouted and signed TJ in the first place  , Kettlewell the shite manager with a thin skin who’s brand of football is awful.
But thats two nobody strikers he signed, Bair and TJ they have turned into million pound plus players for us. Shite manager who put us in trouble but looks like he made us a good profit from both of them.  He did sign shite ones as well .   Just saying.

Bet Grizlyg is still raging tho.

Last season was probably 6-7M but Miller was most of that. Only other players we could of got money for was probably Slattery and Sparrow purley of the fact they'd both scored 6/7 goals from WB or Cm
