I think there’s no chance Jens is leaving just now, especially how hes been really vocal on players leaving during the window.

Ive no doubt we will lose him at some point, and im sure we’ll all wish him well but hes here until the end of the season….. hopefully at least.

Dreadful Timing by Blackburn. Window shuts in 4 hours and sitting in relegation spot. Not the most enticing position on offer.

I almost spat my coffee out this morning when I heard the Engels bid was legitimate. The guy is a really average player.

TBF, he might be a more effective player in a better side.

Probably told the manager he couldn't sign any players to help the struggle.  So he told them where to go.

Assuming Celtic sign a CB I think that's very likely. And from MON's comments yesterday it sounds like there is movement on that too.

Not sure of exact figures but I’ve seen it said that Welsh is on 10k a week at Celtic. Not sure what percentage of his wages we were paying or what a “normal” wage is for our players but if Celtic are being pain in the ass about a loan we could perhaps offer to cover his full wage. If we were paying 50% anyway (a complete guess) paying another 50% would just be an extra 75k. (5K x 15 weeks) which I think would be a good investment to keep him on our team for the remainder of this season.

Not so sure, that would be a £150k investment. I’d rather spend that on paying towards a player we bought in wages and hopefully get it back when we sell them.

Like any investment it would have risks, as would investing it in the wages of any other player. But the higher we finish the more Money we make plus a higher finish gives us a better shot at European football. With Welsh, we Know exactly what we are getting. With another player there’s probably added risk.

My reading of it is that Celtic just want him off the wage bill and that any fee to Celtic would be to pay up his contract.

16 months at £10k a week would be £160k.

That would leave him free to sign a short term deal with us which is basically free money to Welsh.

Would he sign that until 2027 with the understanding that we wont stand in his way if a bigger club comes in?

Hard to say, but personal circumstances would come into it. Not sure if he has a young family or not?
