I'm not sure that's correct as I understand it a loan player can be recalled anytime the parent club deems it necessary, plus Wilson is already our player so we are not adding a player so no need to wait for a transfer window.

It really depends on the fine print in the loan agreement and what both clubs have agreed on.

He can only re-register with us in January, different for a goal keeper (in an emergency), different for Stenhousemuir.

Had a wee search and found this posted in reply to the same question re Loans. Ties in with what I understood to be the situation. The Partnership agreement with Stenny and Cowdenbeath regarding young Scottish players falls outside the normal Loan terms.

Quote

"Clubs can now only make loan deals during the two transfer windows between July/August and January and players can only be brought into clubs on either half season or full season loans.

The changes mean that players can no longer be brought into clubs outside of the transfer windows on short-term deals with many clubs often bringing in players on a month`s loan during the season.

The changes also mean that clubs cannot recall a player until the transfer window reopens, the only exception to this is with goalkeepers.

Parent clubs can recall a goalkeeper with just 24-hours notice if they do not have two fit goalkeepers at their club.

Clubs can still recall players to feature for their development squad during the loan period."

So on that basis, Wilson returning before January is a non starter. I guess new rules were introduced to stop clubs abusing the system by swapping players back and forward, sometimes for a month or less at a time.

There are also the Cooperation Agreements this season, aimed at players aged 16 - 21, where they can be moved at will between loan club and parent club all season.

Wilson is not part of those, but a couple of other youngsters are.

Will wait to see how he looks in a Motherwell jesrsey, but cant say I was ever overly impressed when he played against us for Celtic.

All relative though. If he is better than we have in the building, he will do fine.

And exactly how many times did he play against us that warrants this judgment? 😵💫

He scored against well in 2021 . A game they won and also scored in win against real bets shortly after. But must have been poor as jwfanclubbsaid. Must take a lot time impres that dude.

Not sure what part of my post is that remarkable that it has drawn 2 negative posts.

At no point have I stated Welsh was a bad player, or wouldnt do a job for us.

Im just of the opinion he isnt the most impressive Celtic defender Ive ever seen and we are taking him on loan with an injury record that would suggest he might not be able to play a lot of games.

If he has goals in his locker, thats a good thing.

I do hope he is the second coming of Paolo Maldini however, and can lead us to a cup win!

What are the chances of us signing Celiks most impressive defender on loan for a year then.

He is a very good signing for a wee team like us, played against big teams ,big team experience and training , big guy and a powerful defender just what we need to organise a pussy defence shipping needless goals.

I'd argue that the defence hasn't shipped too many howlers this season.

Rangers goal - set piece

Hearts - first goal was a belter, second goal got caught marginally with a high line, third GK error.

Killie - First goal is one I'll give you, second goal GK error...

Not many needless goals shipped to my mind.

This is not to say Welsh won't be a decent signing. But just feel our centre halfs haven't been that culpable for goals this season...

For me the problem is more with the goalkeeper than the defence

Ward has made a couple of big errors but he's also made more than one decent save to keep us in matches - notably two at Tynecastle. I think it's pretty clear some people want Ox back and that's fair enough but Ward hasn't been all bad - just that when you make a big error - it's more noticeable

Every keeper lets in goals. Kelly had a really dismal spell for us at one point - pretty prolonged if I recall and some people were saying Ox should go in goals then - I think we should give Ward a break tbh - and personally I trust JBA to make the right decision

This is it in a nutshell.

Doesn't matter what we think he's the guy who sees him every day in training and you either trust his judgement or you don't.

You've said that already. Why would it be last chance saloon? He's made mistakes but so does every goalkeeper. Do you not think we should back our players? There were folk slagging off Ox last season - folk have  very short memories.

And like I said earlier - Liam Kelly went a lot longer going through a very poor spell and he didn't get the grief Ward is currently getting

Early days as you are saying. I think the grief AP is getting and Ward is getting is, is because of the JBA words of ambition. The fans are now being ambitious too. If the two had been on top form we would be on 8 points & I think a very deserved 8 points as well.

I really do get that. But I think it's a bit ridiculous that Kellys poor run in goals lasted something like ten weeks (someone can correct me if I am wrong). And there were issues with Kelly and the defence when Hammell was in charge too

Like for me if Ward goes in goals again and makes an arse of it - drop him. I just think the criticism he's getting just now is a tad disproportionate

Yeh I feel the same way about AP. Guy is slogging his guts out - perhaps even overtrying but it's not coming off for him.

Can't agree there, Kelly got tons of grief when his form dropped.

There's usually one guy gets pelters and soon it will be someone else.  SOd, Kelly,  ap Stam , now Ward. Next it will be someone else. Stama has improved as has SoD.

Stamatelopoulos is not scoring more goals, his positional play is still suspect, so in what way has he improved?

I think his positional play getting better. Work rate improved and goals will come.

I don't know Robster. I saw him in 3 our of the 4 League Cup group stage games and he worked his socks off, but just didn't seem to actually do very much. I would never accuse him of lack of effort. Maybe our current set up just doesn't suit him?

In Kilmarnock game there was an occasion where he beat off side trap, was one on one with goalie, took it past him and angle was too narrow to shoot, so he passed it and nearly got assist. It's fine margins. I thinks he kept Kilmarnock busy. Just needs a break I think. Think he died drift wide too often.
