Sometimes I think I must be looking at the wrong league table, because my copy has us sitting in 7th with Ross County having to score 8 points more than us to overtake.

I know it's been a poor season, but the league table doesn't lie, and we are at the very least, equal best of a bad bunch.

We are a very glass half full bunch at times. Personally as we are level with St mirren we should be aiming for 6th!.........DOH!!!

If Hearts get a 'sacked manager bounce' and beat county, we'll be 7 ahead with 9 to play for. Even if we pick up a point in Dundee it'll be 8 with 9 to play for. I can't see that getting turned round. OK, might not be safe mathematically on Saturday at 5 pm, but hopefully all but !

This had crossed my mind too - that - Hearts might win.

Hopefully we'll do it on our own and we won't need anyone else to do us a favour

Ideal is that both us and Herts win then we are 10 above county and can relax (as fans, not the team) and look forward to next season and hopefully also enjoy the last 3 games.

If we win, I don't care what any other teams are doing. It's just another step closer to 7th spot.

Correct, 7th should be the target, to get the maximum prize money we can get.

I’ll take all the help we can get every time.

The best help we can get is taking care of our own business. Worrying about the other results is an approach that will get you into trouble. Let them worry about ours.

You're completely right but nothing wrong with teams below us doing us a favour either

I'm just thinking more about the players' mentality. When you're a professional sports person, it's much easier to be playing to win something (like top of our split) than playing to avoid a loss.

Of course, as fans, we don't have to worry about that so can also hope other teams do us a favour.

Would love a win at Dens but would happily settle for a draw just now..

That would do.

Play for win.

OK with a draw.

Just don't lose.

The Official site reports " no new injuries" ahead of the game, but no mention of Gordon or Maswanise. I really hope Gordon makes it as, if he doesn't, we'll struggle to field a back 4.

I wouldn't be against that as long as his wages were commensurate with being a squad player. Hopefully we'll sign some better quality this summer, but we'll still need squad players.

Exactly! If we can take care of our part and get 3 points from this game but also see St Johnstone beat Killie, then we can celebrate securing premier status for another year, since the following week sees Killie V Dundee which means that at least one of them will finish below us.
