I’m sure that both those songs were before the game that day. The entire ‘Well end singing it and it was a great atmosphere.

Scooter - Maria (I like it loud) was common during the early days of Jim Gannon’s time.

Chumba Wamba depressingly playing out “I get knocked down but I get up again” after a loss for years.

And the horrendous ‘mash-ups’ of the late 00s/early 2010s

Think you are right when you say both those songs were before the game

Jim Gannon was a guy who could cause a debate back in the day

Thought Take Me Out was at half time as I have a memory of the Rangers fans looking at us as if to say "Do they not know they're getting beat?"...

Yup pre match as I was smiling enjoying it.......face was tripping me at half time

It was a classic case of "I enjoyed the first 45 minutes. And then we kicked off"

When I started going to fir park I’m not sure they played “songs” i seem to recall it was more jimmy Shand and toe tapping accordion “Yooooch”!!! Type music.
Perhaps some of the old duffers can back me up on that?? We’re talking early to mid 60’s

Sure this came about as Steaua Bucharest played it and folk loved it, and it's a belting Scooter song. (as all Scooter songs are.)

Yes commonplace in Scottish football of that era. Its a generational thing. Nowadays the Beatles and Rolling Stones are deemed to be old fashioned and well past their sell by date by Generation Z. Long live the Swedish House Mafia!

No, believe it or not, I didn't Allan.

Our granddaughter and her partner both like them and we've been forced to thole a few of their tracks when visiting them. I'm not precious about music - each to their own. If some artist(s) give folk pleasure then thats fine by me.

Indeed. Despite the cheese factor, got to give big - respect to the man in the ice cream van!! 🤣

“Twist and shout” instantly brings back memories of the playoff games. Singing it after being kept in after the game at Ibrox and the entire ground belting it out once we went ahead on the Sunday at Fir Park.

Ten years ago come the end of this month.

Not too long ago on youtube I stumbled across a game of us vs killie in the 90s. Didn't watch it all, but pre match they were playing "my hometown" by bruce Springsteen and it took me back!

I don't know if it just sticks in my mind due to my young age at the time but I seem to remember it getting played every single home game 😂

I stumbled across the exact same game,  it was the 2-1 defeat on new years day 1999

The pre-match atmosphere looking back didnt look too exciting. I was there and we were robbed

One guy who was talking about us in the pre-match chat was a future manager of us Craig Brown.  I remember him saying I love coming here

Snap's - Rhythm is a dancer sticks in my mind somehow
The awful dirge of 'My Home town' 🤮
'Go for good health, we'll win as well' 🤮
There was a time we played both versions of 'From the slope of FP terraces...'

My Hometown is a great song in the right circumstances. Unfortunately, in a football stadium as the teams run out, isnt one of them! 😆😆😆

I remember we used to play the old version of "Up The 'Well". Thanks to The Banter Thiefs for revamping it and giving it new life!
