Re the pricing debate.

Most of our fans are season ticket holders. Attendances show that.

Any walk ups will find space in the Hunter no problem.

Thats what I did, when I didnt have a season ticket. I never had an issue getting in.

Given the financial argument, Im surprised we are even discussing this.

I don't think people were discussing space. They were discussing the price of category A games.

I know what they were discussing. But why does anyone really care?

Most of our fans are season ticket holdlers and those that arent can easily be accomodated in the Hunter where the prices are cheaper (and imho the view is better).

The big 2 have been overcharging our fans for years to sit in shite seats in the worst areas of their stadia. I get that 2 wrongs dont make a right, but Id be really annoyed if they got a better deal at Fir Park than we do over there.

Given its the big 2 that pretty much set the prices, then Im more than happy with the clubs position on this.

Especially as we dont roll over rand give them tickets elsewhere in the stadium anymore.

Sorry, I misread your post.

I actually don't know what we get charged to be at Ibrox - I don't go, assume it's 35 quid.

They both charge us the maximum permitted.

Easy solution. Invest in the club as well as saving money and buy a season ticket. 👏

If only it were that easy with regards getting to games.

On the "invest in the club" comment, I talked my wife into investing £7.5k into advertising her business at the ground (3 years now) so we do our bit.

I don't like the Hunter stand as imho it isn't as good a view

Its not that long ago that the club did not care about the home fans and gave the ugly sisters the South and Cooper stands as well as both wings of the POD any time they were in town, moving many ST holders in the process.

The only thing the club can do given that they are bound by league rules etc is to do away with match categories and charge all fans home and away the same price, for all stands apart from the Hunter, I think its currently £26 for the POD.

But it will never happen as the financial cost to the club would be prohibitive, 5000 away fans in thd South stand at £8 is £40k, 4 times a year is £160k that could finance 1 or 2 players wage..

Maybe we should go back to giving them extra stands and charge everyone £26, would stop a couple of folk complaining about £36 three games a season and I’m sure we’d make more cash ;)

Each to their own.

I dont like the Cooper as I dont think you get a great view of the away goal (and the slope used to annoy me).

The bottom line is that the whole thing starts with the big 2 and their gate prices.

If that doesnt happen, we dont raise ours for Cat A games and everyone is happy.

Of course we could go back to sharing gate money for all fixtures we are involved in like the olden days before the financial gulf made it impossible for a provincial club to compete. But thats a hold different debate and I wont be holding my breath!

Next thing you'll be saying we should split the prize money and TV revenue equally!

That might lead to stronger competition.

Madness!!

I'm assuming all this talk of pricing is because no one wants to actually talk about what's going to happen on the park? Having watched them the other night, they look as though they're going to give up chances. Sadly like Panathinaikos, we look likely to miss a fair percentage of them.

I expect it to be the same team that started against Morton and Hertha. Which would be a pretty attacking selection for this game but the manager doesn't strike me as ready to compromise yet..

I have a funny feeling it'll be 3-2 tomorrow. Which way, I have no clue...

Another Rangers fan I work with today suggested  Rangers might have the advantage , because Motherwell haven't been playing competitive games .

Goes back to the point I made last week how your average old firm fan completely misses the premier sports cup groups

I didn't correct him as he is always complimentary to Motherwell however , and he is anticipating a very close game

Wow, what a guy. I can’t even talk my missus into paying for the Chinese take away on a Friday night.

Another excellent interview from Jens

This I the first time I've been a bit disappointed by a JBA  interview. I thought that he seemed to be managing expectations and setting us up to expect to lose.

Funny how different people hear different things. I was delighted he didn't roll out the usual "we need to be at our best and hope they aren't" spiel beloved of most of our managers.

Sorry bud but I was being sarcastic thinking about the meltdown if they were given the Cooper stand again hence the emoji

He did acknowledge the fact that we are not the favourites, but I didn't get the impression he was being negative at all

It wasn’t Stuart McCall/Terry Butcher levels of talking us down before these types of games but I wasn’t too impressed with that either from JBA. Our “Great wee club” syndrome starting to creep into his mindset?

I don’t see it being anything like 0-7, more like a narrow 1-2 loss that’s frustrating in that we ran them close and could have got something but ultimately didn’t, followed by the usual patronising ‘plaudits’ about how it was a “spirited performance” and “we can take so much more from that than they did even though they won” and so on. Basically the kind of pish that Tam Cowan regularly comes out with when talking about Motherwell.
