My 2 takeaways (as they say) from yesterday's game are:

  • Welsh looks a decent addition to the defence.
  • We are less effective when Slattery and Just are both absent from the starting lineup

Defensively, we're making less mistakes than last season - still too many, but made worse by the fact we aren't killing off the game at the other end when we have the chance.

My take on yesterday is that the road infrastructure around the "Queensferry Crossing" is a total cluster f**k.

Left home at 1.15 had only reached the outer appraches of the bridge at 2.30, turned around and came home.

F**k you road planners.

Its was shocking and the road works into Dundee were horrendous. Traffics at a standstill . Those parking restrictions round the ground are a pain in the arse too. I left East Kilbride at 12.00 to try and avoid the nightmare parking and got to Dundee at 2.15. A journey that normally takes me 1.30 taking 2.15 .

I hear what you’re saying and I share the concerns about injuries, but honestly, how many more chances does he need before he stops fluffing his lines or getting caught on his heels? With a clinical centre forward and sharper decision making across the team, several of those draws would already be wins. I’m still positive about JBA and the team in general, but I guess I just have to accept we’re stuck with a busted flush for another season at least.

I dont think he has had a real run of games until this season. Last season he came in with no pre season, got injured twice then broke his wrist.

We have what we have until January. If his record doesnt improve by then, I will maybe concede he needs moved on. Until then we need him to contribute until Hendry, Osong etc are fit enough to push him for a starting spot.

Im happy enough that Maswanhise will get us enough goals to keep us out of trouble, but we need someone to lead the line and at the moment Stama is it.

We do need to stop shipping gsoft goals though. Its great that we do that mostly by just keeping the ball, butnit would be great if we didnt concede pretty much every time we give away cheap possession!

I actually thought our style of play of playing it our from the back would result in a few more silly goals but it hasn't. The goals we are losing has nothing to do with our style of playing out from the back it just rank bad defending and goalkeeping.

Exactly my point.

We have been very good at playing out from the back and as a bi-product, teams are getting very little of the ball to do anything with.

Its just when they do, we arent defending our box very well.

We have conceded 7 goals in the league and gifted 5 of those by not doing our jobs properly.

Tell me about it. We have to negotiate it travelling to every home game.

Blame the Scottish Government.  Trust me, I know about it all too well.

I don't think the government puts out the cones.

Maybe not, but through Transport Scotland, it did design the surrounding infrastructure and serious questions about capacity and other related issues were raised at the time but these were ignored.  Its a long story and not for this forum, but in short, the Queensferry Crossing was deemed to be a straight replacement for the Forth Road Bridge and in no way was it to increase capacity.

Sorry, I digress from the Dundee game.
