Ward for the 3rd could do better, but the guy had a free run more or less at him.

Plenty of poorer performances than Ward.

Perhaps the manager was blinded with thoughts that the game would go into extra time and he was saving Slattery and Cook for that.

Really disappointing today.

Didnt turn up first half and although St Mirren didnt cut us open we gifted them 2 goals and its a long way back from there.

Second half we were better, but once again poor decisions in the final third cost us.

Stama was very poor today and Im ready to accept Hendry should be starting until we can get someone better in.

Maswanhise, Said and Longelo all seemed well off it today as well, although by no means the only ones.

I thought once we got the goal we might get back into it, but instead we lost all discipline and composure and on the wrong end of a bad scoreline.

You could argue that the starting line up was wrong, but none of us know what the injury/fitness levels of various players are/were, and I didnt have any real arguments with the lineup beforehand.

We certainly improved with Welsh, Slattery and Hendry on the pitch, but could they have started/lasted 60 minutes?

Just really disappointing to shit the nest in such an important game.

Will take a few days to lick the wounds of this one.

Stama won't do was on the fence for last while but he has no killer instinct of a striker .Too tippy tappty light weight.Hes there to score goals n doesn't unless itss a pen .That's what we need, at least one anyway.

We need a goalkeeper , left back, centre half and a centre forward as a minimum in January window.

Actually  thought we played ok ,nice passing game but no plan B to the way we play. Whe must have had nearly 60- 70% possession again but no end product

Robinson had our number right from the start , let us pass the ball 2/3 way up then get close to us , shut down us and take the chances we give them. St Midden played a cup tie and deserved to win it ,sad to say.

Well that was pump, too slow going forward and defensively rotten. I thought some of the players were colour blind with the amount of passes straight to the opposition. But the game is over so we have to learn from it. Fingers crossed we can pick up a couple of players in January who can do the basics right and score some goals

Just back in from the game (finished too late to get ferry home) and I get rewarded with a night in a Prem Inn in Greenock......the good news just never stops today....

Starting Said instead of Slattery was criminal and to a slightly lesser extent, but still a mistake, not starting Welsh.

Too much footering when a shot or a proper cross was required. Just had a golden opportunity to score and tried to tippy tap a pass instead. Said was just pish and so was Longelo. Just all round bad day at the office. St Mirren certainly negated us by not pressing too high, knowing we can't create around a crowded box.

Thoroughly pissed off this evening !

Was watching our keeper for their first goal just before the corner was taken . He was standing about like he was waiting on a bus hands by his sides n looking lost orginising nothing.  He's not a class goalie I'm afraid .

Fair assessment from JBA post match basically saying we were second best and didn’t defend well enough. He needs to show that he and the team can learn from it though.

JBA was a defender as a player. Hired by Sparta Prague as their defensive coach. He got sacked. Says it all really. Another coach who can't set up a defense and fails to realize that Liam Gordon is shite. Subbed at half time. Was totally bullied by Mandron. Don't worry he will play him in the next game.

JBA has had a limited time since the summer to get new players in, playing a style that looks good and may be new to them.

So can't be too critical overall the team is good to watch .But he has to learn by his mistakes

That one was on JBA. He has the January transfer window to show he can make this work, but my confidence in him is starting to waver. It doesn’t help that his number 9 and central defence are completely useless.

i get why we came into this season with stama as our number 9 but he ain't the answer.the issues we have in defence are completely our own making,we didn't need to keep both O'donnell and mcginn on,it should have been one or the other or ideally neither and the wages used to try and improve an already shit defence, gordon was a part of that shit defence last season but yet we go into a semi final with him and mcginn,it just won't do,Johnny k is a bit part part player at best, not the solid right back that we're crying out for, longelo has been a good signing but today and the livi game, he was awful but we don't have another to come in and give him a rest for a couple of games.throw in a piss poor keeper and it's a recipe for disaster.its going to be same old same old while the likes of mcginn and gordon are here,if any good comes of today it should show the manager that the defence needs ripped up and starting again.

Its far too often style over substance if you are not scoring goals you dont win games, our midfield is fine, up front we are dreadful Stamatelopoulos is hopeless, and defensively we are weak, especially at right back.

We need to sort it out in January as we let a bang average St Mirren side get the easiest place in a major final they will  ever get today.

I find it really difficult to comprehend that a provincial side has reached a national final and will play either of the old firm and I will want the old firm to win?? I feel quite dirty about this but I really despise St Mirren as a club, I can’t stand their players, manager and in particular their fan base.

i think I need to go to bed. It’s been a horrible day.

Very disappointing performance and result. It only takes our game to be a fraction off for us to look powderpuff in attack and disjointed at the back.

A lot of the narrative in the build-up was that the big pitch would be to our advantage. If anything it was the opposite, we weren’t able to move at pace whilst St Mirren quickly got from A to B. The likes of Just and Said were swallowed up by St Mirren’s powerful defence and midfield. Koutroumbis was afforded acres of space, St Mirren banking on him doing little with it.

We only started to carry a threat once both Welsh and Slattery were on the pitch, the latter the only one capable of spreading the ball with a bit of quality. This does call into the question the starting lineup, I initially assumed both weren’t 100% fit.

Good luck to St Mirren in the final. Robinson knows how to get a tune out his team in a semi and I wouldn’t mind him going one step further. Time for us to lick our wounds and sharpen up at both ends of the pitch.

Totally agree. McGin and odonnel should never have had extended contracts. I think we should have took bid for Stama and got player on loan. Defence needs rebuild.
