SteelmaninOZ Posted yesterday at 12:43 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:43 PM After a week of training and treatment we should be ready to go to Aberdeen. Yes we fans are hurting after that result I know the players are. I don’t expect a big travelling support for this game but I will be cheering them on from the far side of the world. grizzlyg Posted yesterday at 12:48 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:48 PM Aberdeen playing in europe on Thursday so hopefully tired. I hope JBA mixes it up a bit. 1) Welsh back in starting xi surely 2) start Stama and Hendry as a front two. 3) maybe start Halliday in midfield and rest Fadinger or Watt. I think some players maybe think they are guaranteed a start so it keeps them on their toes. I will take an ugly 1-0 win if offered

Kmcalpin Posted yesterday at 04:36 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:36 PM A huge game for us to prove that yesterday was simply an unfortunate aberration. Jimmy Teleen will surely have been observing yesterday's proceedings with interest. We've beaten them twice already but we need to tweak the system somewhat to keep them guessing. mio Posted yesterday at 04:42 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:42 PM I’ll be happy with a draw. I can’t see us beating Aberdeen three games in a row over a period of a month. itd be nice to see a reaction from them all after that yesterday. I’d say our center back pair should always be Welsh +1, probably McGinn at the moment. I’d stick with Fadinger and Watt. Perhaps JT sub and RCC starting? Or start JT to see which one we are getting and then decide from there. Slattery to start. O’Donnell and Johnny. One starts one subs on don’t care which order. Longelo starts since no real option but hope he’s a bit more aggressive down the line, like he was doing a few games ago. Give Hendry a go to start this game. I think he’s looking better each game. No reason we can’t do well in this game other than it’s not very often we beat Aberdeen 3 times in a row.

Happy with that. Need Welsh back, in the last 2 games he didn't start we have conceded 7 goals
texanwellfan Posted yesterday at 09:49 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:49 PM Not sure how this will go. Hope we get a reaction from the team to help us win this one. We’ve already had 2 shut outs against them so I don’t see that happening 3 games in a row. A draw would be decent as I think they have got better since we last played them but 3 points would make a tremendous difference Toni’s as we have a difficult set of games this month. Killie away then hibs and hearts at home. should be two good games at home, even more so if we can get some wins.
joewarkfanclub
Dont see us beating Aberdeen 3 on the bounce with back to back wins up there. Would take a draw right now. That said, Thelin is under serious pressure right now so you never know. Be nice to see a reaction and a positive performance at least. Richie
Don't think we should get carried away about Sat, for all it was a horrific performance, it was also the perfect storm for St Mirren. Aberdeen very hit and miss recently. Slattery has to start as his dynamism and movement gives us far more attacking threat. We need a bit more zip with the ball, on Sat we were in danger of passing around the back 4 for passing's sake. Need to get back to the brief of brave, progressive play.

That is why Welsh not starting baffled me and why I think Askou got it wrong. Welsh is the only Centre Back we have that has the confidence and ability to push up and then pass the ball accurately into our midfield. And he has the pace others do not possess. Starting McGinn and Gordon as a pairing was the reason we saw so many negative passes along the back line. Also meant, especially on our left side, that our wide players could not charge forward. Made it so comfortable for St Mirren. Welsh simply has to start on Saturday.
mio
I think it’s obvious Welsh took a knock against Dundee Utd and wasn’t 100% for Saturday. JBA I think rates him highly and he’d have started if he was fully fit. The Slattery one completely confused me though on Saturday, he needs to play as he brings the best out in Just, Watt and Fadinger. To play him for 90mins against Utd and drop him to the bench was utter madness. I really hope we have a proper reaction in this game following the disaster on Saturday. Surely our players must be fuming at themselves. Get out there and prove they are a good side.

He would be the managers first name on the sheet in defence if fit.
Coatsy
Dont think Welsh, Longelo, Maswanse or Slattery are 100% fit atm, and i doubt if our AP is either. But were kg trying to manage their playing time hence the shuffling of the team.

Yes and No. However the kinda of fuck up we did against a very average St Mirren side (enough of this tactical genius pish by Robinson,) we did against Hearts, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Falkirk. We gift goals like its going out of fashion. I fancy us to beat ourselves again on Saturday.
